Some of you may remember these from the last forum but they were updated after yesterdays games. Generally interesting stuff for stats geeks.

Look at the link for seperate attack and defence graphs, but as you can see for us we are great going forward and creating shots but looking at the attack graph we waste a lot of those chances, which is nothing new really we have been saying all season we need a clinical goalscorer and this just proves it

That we've got the busiest attack might shut up a few of us fans! Or enrage them more because we're not converting enough. Let's see.

I wonder how that graph would look for the last month or so. Kind of get the feeling that we're facing more shots than we were earlier on the season.

I think you're misreading the graph. Halifax are shooting quite a lot but not as much as us or Grimsby. However, you've let the opposition shoot less than us.

Aye the further to the right you are the more shots and therefore busier attack, the lower down the less shots you face. So Halifax restrict the opposition to the fewest shots, but there are 5 other teams who have more shots per games

Just answered my own question. Since December we have faced on average 10.5 shots per game, so we would be up where Torquay are plotted.

I do enjoy these graphs, funny how we're third yet in the same quadrant as the bottom 5!

Aye but if you look at the other two graphs on the blog you can see that even though you create few chances you are very clinical and you allow lots of shots but are good at keeping them out.

Wow, we're surprisingly clinical according to that. Shame we can't defend, or we'd have a chance of going up.

Starting to wonder how I managed to get out of bed this morning. That makes more sense.

Does this mean Eastleigh just knock the ball around the middle of the pitch all game?

Perhaps a reflection that at least 13 of their squad are aged 30+. And before everyone says FGR are also a bunch of League journeymen that have dropped down to the Conference, we have only three aged 30+ (Parkin, Pipe, Carter).

I actually wish we were as bang average as we look on there!

Everyone of those graphs puts us in (albeit at times just about) in the "best quadrant," which doesn't quite feel right.

Meanwhile Eastleigh do not appear in the "best quadrant" even once. Shows that their sudden downturn is not a surprise, likewise for our upturn.

We're top for 3 out the 4 graphs yet we're still 3rd. Great news.

We are "ineffectual" in attack. I can't really argue with that.

No, it's because their players struggle to run far with their pockets stuffed full of wads of cash, so just loiter around in midfield instead.
I heard that we enquired about Tubbs in Jan but he wanted extortionate amounts to drop into non-league, like double what we paid anyone. So we went for the relatively unknown quantity of Moore. But I guess if they only got him on loan for 3 months, maybe Eastleigh willing to pay for long term gain of possible promotion.

Which they won't achieve, because they don't have a defence. So all in all, money down the drain. Happy days.

Interesting graph. So much for us having the hardest run in.. killer for Grimsby and Woking.

I suppose it puts our play-off chances in our hands, having to beat those around us rather than beating the bottom half and hoping the others mess up. Our form needs to improve, starting tomorrow, if we're going to have a chance.

Quite the opposite infact, we always play our best stuff against the better teams, its the teams fighting at the bottom that we screw up in year upon year.
