Job done there, might have been a bit hairy if they’d have held onto the lead for a bit longer, but to be honest their goal was an obvious foul and our equaliser should’ve been disallowed for being complete shit. Second half was just a case of how many we were going to be score, job done.

Artell made a good point yesterday in that if Grimsby were drawn away to say, Stevenage or Northampton ( he didn’t specifically name these clubs) from the league above we wouldn’t be particularly worried. Same surely applies to Wealdstone. We should win, but by no means guaranteed. Not much in football is to be honest
Yep I’ve seen us lose at home to Bath City and Salisbury City in this round so I’m taking nothing for granted.
In fact Salisbury was the second round as that was the year we beat Port Vale in a replay in round 1.

Stronger side than I expected. Two goals and two assists should get Brown another confidence boost. Could he actually become useful?

We'd ran the legs off Alfreton by the hour. Good game to watch and Jevani Brown looks like he's playing his way back to some of the form Exeter fans talked about.
Bass, Platt, Bedeau, Abbott and Jatta are turning out to be stellar signings for us. Add in Palmer getting back to his old self and the spine of the team looks pretty good.
Over 1000 Alfreton fans in a 6,600 crowd made it a good atmosphere too.

Good following for Ofton that

Yeah there’s some giving them shit on facebook and the like but 1300 is a cracking following given they normally get 400/500 odd.

Always had a bit of a soft spot for alfreton (apart from when we lost to them in the conference  )

Brilliant travelling support last night. Obviously not the first time a club has brought more to Meadow Lane than they get at home

Was keeping an eye on the score given the bet - i saw the score around 85 minutes at 4-1 and it reminded me of last season at the lane :)

It’s not that good a following - I’m sure in the equivalent game for us, Scunthorpe, they would have brought more…

Wigan at home this afternoon.

5 for Wigan. No FA cup upset in North Cumbria.

We’ve got Curzon Ashton from their league tomorrow, could go top if they win the game in hand, like Alfreton they average around 500 so kindly given us 2,000 which have all been snapped up - decent payday.

You’d imagine scunthorpe would surely get out of that league this season, was it tamworth they lost out to last season?

They lost top spot to Tamworth then lost to Boston on pens in the play-off semi.

I think most Town fans are pleased they didn’t go out of business. I and many others chucked a few quid into the crowd fund appeal to pay their non-playing staff, when their previous, ex-criminal owner, said he was pulling all funding.

Having done that we’d be content for them suffer a couple more play-off failures if they don’t finish top. We had 3 on the trot before we finally got out of the NL first time round. If they had the same a level lower, we might consider they’d suffered enough…

Brown looked lost and pretty miserable in his first few games, but he’s improving with every appearance now and looks like he’s used to his role playing a bit deeper. Desperately needed a goal so it was good stuff from us giving him the penalty, I think. Can definitely see a player in there - his pass for Jatta’s goal was lovely.

You’re right with that view, whereas it’s amusing to see your rival(s) struggle or be below you, you’re no proper football fan if you want them out of business so the town becomes another soulless place where it’s full of lpool and utd tops every weekend - there’s enough of them already.

Turns out AFC ‘for the fans’ Wimbledon directors were against us lowering ticket prices for Sunday. Sure their circa 2,000 odd following will be unhappy they are giving both club’s less money and receiving a cheaper big day out

Well… that’s stronger than expected. Markanday obv not been allowed to play by Blackburn which is worrying for when Jan comes around…

Glad I'm not bothering go vale today. They think there doing you a favour lowering the price to 15 pounds, then they just rest and leave out all the best players and pick reserves against a play off league one team. Expecting a 5 nil loss now because of this.

Rested our entire midfield and forward line although the omission of both Garrity and Croasdale is a worry if injured.

34 year old Jason Lowe and a wing back in midfield.

Not too fussed as long as no injury to the two midfielders and just rest.

I knew garrity was injured as he came off last week probably just needs abit of a rest. Somebody put on onevalefan yesterday that both garrity and croasdale hadn't trained all week which explains why we brought that harper in yesterday. The fa cup used to be the biggest game of the season but now it's just turned into rest your best players don't care about the result lowest gate of the season competition.

Barnsley taking this more seriously than we are. Either way don’t get any injuries and avoid extra time will do for me.

Most years I’d want us to win this but everything this season for us is about promotion, nothing else matters and we need to be 100% focused on that.

No one will care we lost to Barnsley if we get promoted. Gillingham Away is far far more important than this one.

If we had aims of mid table or just survival then I’d be all in for winning this but too much to risk.

Let key players rest, knocks heal and be in a better position next week with who is available.

Rovers have picked a fairly strong side and look like reverting to 4 at the back. Oldham have rested a few but brought back Prenton Park favourite James Norwood, maybe good psychology from Micky Mellon.

Did the oversized away support compare to modest home support also remind you of a trip to Meadow Lane Adam? :bg:

Pisses me off this. We've done the same resting the likes of Bobby Pointon, Andy Cook and Jamie Walker, and we are a goal down to Aldershot, could have been more to be honest
