Matlock 4-2 Heanor Town

Credible effort by all accounts but unsurprisingly its Matlock who advance. Comfortable 6-0 win away at Ashby Invanhoe for Ilkeston.

Is it some relief that Heanor go out before Alfreton come in, or would you like to see the two play each other potentially?

Interesting to note that Kettering won in the last min thanks to Aaron O'Connor. They must be splashing the cash! (also recently signed Kaid Moahmmaed). Az is from around Nottingham IIRC which means if he was available I'd have expected someone like yourselves to be in for him

Haha not at all. Id like to see them play each other in a proper game. We met a couple of years ago in the Derbyshire Senior Cup when we were in the Conference Premier and it was Heanor who won with a goal in extra time but I missed it as I was on holiday!

Re Aaron O Connor. Pretty sure he had a short one month loan spell with us a few years ago but this isnt backed up by wiki so I am not sure. Wouldnt say no to him but we are blessed with options up front, its everywhere else we are in dire straits with just 13 fit players available.

Just a question for people who know 2nd Qualifying round better, how is it regionalised?

Certainly does differ every year. For myself - somebody local away (one of Kempston Rovers, Barton Rovers, AFC Dunstable or Hitchin Town).

We are through to the next round...after abit of a 2nd half soaking. Made a long journey feel longer on the way back home (joys of using public transport and not a car!)

Beat Sun Postal Sports 2-0 couldve been more but finishing cost us again and also a couple of cracking saves from Sports 'keeper. First goal was controversial- I'm not saying this just because I'm a Hayes fan- but the ball looked clear to be over the line to me. It took about a minute before it was given as the lino thought it was in but the ref didn't, in the end it was given...goal line technology please.

The second goal, well god knows what happened. It came swinging in from a corner then ball seemed to just bounce off everyone before eventually landing in the net.

The stadium was a bit more of a park, but with other sport facilities around. Very very nice people running the club though and all credit to them, wish them well for the rest of the season.

For the next round, I would like a home tie against anyone that's going to give us a chance.

Hi mate. Not 100% sure. Jemfy may know better but I think it differs every year!

Best I can say is it seems to vary every year, though I don't think it's as bad as the FA Vase where the regionalisation is so fixed they sometimes end up with odd numbers of teams in the regions and pair up the odd teams rather than re-drawing boundaries... (happened to us).

Maybe we can deconstruct from the draw when it comes out tomorrow. I know they tend to just list each region rather than mixing them in the lists at least. If nothing else it might be useful information for the future.

Home to Tamworth. Tough game but I think we can beat anyone at home. Honestly kinda glad we haven't got a team from a few divisions down where we'd bottle the game.

Away to somewhat unknown Ashton athletic who play in the county leagues. Will be fun driving down country lanes and dirt tracks getting there... A new ground for me nonetheless!

You will need your waterproof gear at Ashton, the facilities are, shall we say somewhat limited, 3 sides uncovered and very limited capacity in the covered section. Nice people, however.

Away at Concord Rangers. On the plus side it's somewhere new I guess...

We might be able to take some heart that they are not doing well in the conference south, but even so we come in as quite large underdogs, especially as it is away from home.

Would have liked to avoid anyone from that level for another round really, give us the best possible chance of getting through. Our injuries mounting up as well. I hope we are cautious in the league game in between so we can give the cup our best shot.

I'm not sure how it should be balanced, but interesting to note that there are more conference north/south sides coming in than teams qualifying from previous rounds Almost doesn't seem fair, but that's coming from a quite biased point of view!

Nantwich home to Marine. I'll take that. Tricky enough that the players shouldn't let their guard down and think it's an easy game, but winnable enough to expect progression.

I'll take an away game against Lancaster. Team couple of leagues below so hopefully we will make it through to the next round. There's a little bit of an Axe to grind as well after Lancaster shut us out to hand he title to Salford in our second season in the NPLDIV1N.

Would be a perfect time to have a cup run providing much needed funds to make improvements to our new ground. Fingers crossed

I think it's fair to say that the Aspect Arena is an experience, nice bar though and I believe it's still £10 entry so fair play to them.

Dumebi Dumaka and Steve Cawley are a ridiculously good front 2 for our level so Diamonds will need to be well on their game to get a result.

------------------------------

As for us, home to Histon - two levels below us and bottom of their league. Really good draw and some fans (myself included) remember their snatch and grab 2-0 win at the White Lion Ground in the 4th Qualifying Round in 2004. Lance Key's performance that day is still the greatest goalkeeping performance I've ever seen.

after being kicked off the park and watching the worst refereeing performance since we were reformed at romulas, who play at sutton coldfields ground, should we win the replay we get the pleasure of being drawn away at sutton bloody coldfield, has that ever happenend before where a side gets drawn against two groundsharers in succesive rounds.

So we have Worthing at home in the next round. Not really who I wanted especially when I see they won their replay tonight against Carshalton 6-2 from 2-0 down!

Will be a very tough fixture, but at least it's someone of our level not higher and of course this is the FA Cup so anything can happen. U 'ayesss!!

They're in the NWCFL aren't they? That's only step 5, not too low. Love going to games in that league, it's actually very well run for step 5.

Typical bobbins. Utterly hilarious, they provide top notch comedy every season. And they were 3-1 with a few minutes left in the original game

I agree, I'm looking forward to it. Who do you want in 1st round proper if you get there out of interest?

We've got to get through the qualifying rounds before we can start thinking about the 1st round!! Preferably a small local side (lets say Kidsgrove) away in the 4QR and then away to a decent sized L1/2 team (Coventry/Sheff Utd/Bolton etc) in the 1st round. Last season we were drawn away to Portsmouth which was one of the biggest teams we could have hoped for and meant that we could take a few coachfulls of fans down there and make some money out of it.

This game will no longer be at our ground as we've been told to play elsewhere for the next few rounds of fixtures! Will provide info on the game ASAP

After Ascot United let the Angels off the hook on Sunday with an injury time penalty miss (to win the tie 3-2), the replay took place last night at Stad de Longmead.... it was like watching a different team.... Angels hit 7 without reply (could have so easily been double figures if it wasn't for the heroics of the Ascot keeper who pulled off at least 3 incredible saves in the first half)..... Good to see Phipp back to his previous best....now onto the glamour tie at W&F! The FA cup dream is still alive.....

I know everyone gets bad refs but that bloke was on another level of terrible!! Did the business well enough in the replay though. A very comfortable 3-0 win so we return to sutton coldfield a week saturday!

"We can confirm that the admission prices for this game will be as per our normal league match day prices. Harriers had hoped to reach an agreement to significantly lower admission prices for this game given it is our second home meeting with Tamworth in the space of a few days, but our guests have been firm in their stance that pricing must remain at its standard tariff."

This seems very bizarre from Tamworth, why would they stop their fans from paying less?
