Pleased we scrambled our side together with our covid issues...22k rev from fa cup with this TV money...beat Burton which with players back is certainly possible and much needed financial injection

I hope that young lady doesn't do the next round. Loads of errors and Torquay came out twice. She blamed his accent

We're replaying Chesterfield on Wednesday after they played an unregistered player.

Cashport doing what we want again.

It's a shame Stott didn't add another £10,000 in the brown envelope or they might have been kicked out the competition.

Chesterfield should consider themselves lucky!

God knows what we’ve done here. Absolute fuck up, but he’s played all season so we might be in some bother as he mysteriously disappeared from the squad on Saturday.

someones fucked up royally, it’s embarrassing, they should have just kicked us out

Your 'fishul site says " in so much that Jordan Cropper played in the match with the club having not submitted a copy of the loan permission to The FA prior to the Registration Deadline in breach of Competition Rules." so I guess it's not an issue for league games, just an administrative mistake for the cup

Though that does beg the question of why your club hasn't been kicked out, since it's clearly their fault.

Time to bring back the 2001 Cheaterfield moniker. Presume there's some Poolies round here who are still upset about it....

Nowt against Chesterfield at all, but it’s a bit of a fucking joke that we had to withdraw because there was no alternative date to play our game, considering we’re now back in training and could happily have played it this week.

Surprised this is being replayed, historically using an ineligible player has been punished with immediate expulsion.

It’s amateurish at best. Nothing surprising me anymore but thought things might get better under the new owners, they’ve not had the best start.

It wasn’t Hartlepool kicking up much of a fuss, Brighton and Leyton Orient got a bit worked up though from what I remember of the games against them

Apparently there's regulations that allow you to be reinstated/the tie replayed if you can prove your club wasn't at fault. Chesterfield did it before in 14-15

Gainsborough Trinity got kicked out the FA Cup a few years back because of fielding an ineligible player - said player was signed on loan from us.

Both sides proved that the paperwork was filled in correctly and on time. Everything was time stamped when it was sent to the National League, which they confirmed but the FA said because no-one has physically seen said email/confirmation down there (or at least that's what they claimed...), it wasn't good enough and they just threw them out!

So excuse my ignorance, but I counted some 19 clubs below the Conference in the first round including two ties where both clubs are below the Conference. Am I right in saying that those clubs who get through won’t play another game until the second round?

This world is mad.

Edit: 20 actually, I can’t count.

Conference North and South are classed as elite.

And the leagues below aren’t? So they could theoretically go a month between games.

And in the league a couple of years ago.

I fully expect us to get tanked tonight. The least we deserve

County's injury crisis gets worse, can't even fill the 7 spots on the bench, and that's including kids

Gone with makeshift fullbacks and left winger in a 4-4-2,been a long time since I've seen us play that

And somehow it worked a treat. Really worried how threadbare and tired our team will be for the Notts County game.

Yep, really solid performance despite the cobbled-together nature of the team, perhaps the most threatening we've looked all season. Chesterfield started out with three strikers but the loss of Tyson through injury pretty much neutered them. They did start to be more competitive by around the hour mark, but County got two penalties that may have been a bit fortuitous (then again, the visitors got away with a ridiculous handball in the televised game a couple of weeks ago) that ended it as a spectacle.

Roll on Saturday's game at Rochdale, let's hope we can avoid a giantkilling

Erm.

Does that mean you're concentrating on the league?

Should be a decent game.

You never know with Dale and non-league teams. We've lost to most of them over the years, but have got a bit more ruthless in recent years. Bromley, Boston, Maidstone, Slough, Gateshead all seen off recently.

A few ex-Dale players in your ranks - Minihan and Bell were youth players who had a couple of league games, Jordan Williams put in 100% effort for us, but was out of his depth in L1, Mark Kitching was steady enough, but didn't make either left-back or midfield enforcer a regular position. Not bad players, though, and if the rest of your squad match up it makes things interesting.

You really do want to concentrate on the league, don't you?

No, I want to see County progress in the cup. I don't want us to be knocked out by the minnows

Who are you missing at the moment?
Sam Minihan, Nyal Bell, James Jennings and Mark Kitching all missed Wednesday's game with injury, we also missed Jordan Williams and Harvey Gilmour long-term who hadn't figured at all season. Loan striker Louis Britton missed it as he wasn't registered for the original fixture.

According to tonight's pre-match interview with JG, I think all of them are available - the injured ones have returned to full training, with the exception of Gilmour who's been doing non-contact stuff. So, touch wood, the mini-crisis is over and we'll be able to pick from a full-strength squad very soon.
