Anyone attend any of tonight's games? I saw Staines lose 1-2 at home to Walton Casuals.

A few surprise results:

Rushden & Diamonds 0-5 Newark
Bedfont 3-1 Lewes
East Grinstead 3-3 Worthing (4-3 pens)
Cinderford 2-2 Royal Wootton Bassett (4-5 pens)
Hanley 3-2 Redditch
Whitby 1-1 Warrington Rylands (3-4 pens)
I went to Frickley 0-1 Marine. Wasn't a classic at all but it's nice to get out and watch a bit of live football after a day working from home again.

AFC Mansfield 3-0 Gainsborough could be considered an upset too.

Away at Coalville. At least its away so the fans can go but its a smelly tie. Coalville have former professional Billy Kee in their ranks.

Not sure whether it's been mentioned but Lincoln United had to forfeit their FA Cup tie a week or two back because of 8 positive results.

Away to Hashtag Utd, believe the BBC will have the match available to view on the red button.
Not sure if away fans allowed particularly after the crowd scenes when they won 1st qualifying
round 13-12 on penalties!

Good luck against the freak show, hopefully you embarrass them. If it’s on the BBC again, we’ll all be subject to another Hashtag United propaganda fest so in a sense I feel sorry for Braintree

I don't think they can be on the BBC again. I think a team can only be shown once.

Sounds like fans of step 2 clubs can't attend away games at a smaller club. This is ridiculous. We've played Alvechurch in a friendly already where we could go watch but we now can't go to the same stadium to watch them in the cup.

Is there anything to back this up yet? And how the hell would they enforce it if so?

If you want to go just go.

Also, this is one of those issues where the FA need to be prepared to stand up and tell the government to fuck off if they need to, not "liaise" with them and back down to all their demands, which seems to have been their approach so far.

Nothing yet but clubs haven't been able to sell tickets as they're awaiting confirmation on everything. And of course there's nothing to stop Harriers fans going to Alvechurch but if Alvechurch can't send tickets to Harriers to sell it makes it harder for Harriers fans to go.

This whole thing is a shambles.

Confirmed that step 2 clubs can't have fans attending a game at a lower level. In other news Up the Church ⛪

"Following our latest discussions with Government, we've adopted a nonsensical position without making any effort to explain how non-league football actually works or represent the interests of our member clubs" - The FA.

Let's make no mistake here - this has nothing to do with the Government. They have zero interest in non-league football, don't understand it and don't understand how the pyramid works. There is absolutely no way the Government have kicked up a fuss about step 2 clubs unprompted. They have kicked up a fuss because the FA have needlessly run up to them demanding clarity, and have then failed to push back when spoken to by someone who clearly doesn't understand what they're talking about.

If this pandemic tells us anything about non-league it's that its governing bodies are utterly unfit for purpose.

The FA says “This position shall apply for matches in the Emirates FA Cup second round qualifying and will be reviewed again prior to the third round qualifying.”

This is the clincher. Entirely the FA's doing.

What kind of governing body wilfully screws over its own member clubs like this?

Hendon had already started selling tickets for our game, so id imagine they're now just going to cancel all tickets purchased from people in the Kent area.

What a shambles

Ended up 445 in attendance at Alvechurch! I think the FA is in turmoil like.

Whoever installed this 3G pitch majorly fucked up, it looks like they dumped 3-4 times the amount of rubber pellets on it than you would normally need.

I quite like Hendon’s newish ground but I think the torrential rain really messed up the 3G pitch!

Coalville 1-2 Alfreton
Heroic stuff from the lads as we spent the whole of the second half under siege. A penalty save from George Willis proved crucial. Injuries stacking up and we havent started the league season yet. Nathan Fox's injury was a game changer.
All that matters is though we are in the hat for the next round. Just!!

Hashtag took a 91st minute lead against Braintree - and then the visitors equalised one minute later then won on penalties.
