We are notoriously shite against lower league opposition. Banana skin.

Andy Holt and Carol seem chuffed with the draw with a good old Twitter love in, good mates and similar minds!

Two of the best owners in the lower leagues. Thankfully when Carol took over Andy Holt was the one to mentor her and Kevin compared to old Norm when he had Oyston. If we lose to them I can happily wish them well regardless.

Be nice to welcome Mitch back to VP too.

AFC Sudbury away, doesn't get much more local than that for us. Embarrassing defeat incoming, probably live on TV, their defensive record is excellent and we can't score a goal.

Be sure to wave from the away end so I know who to set the AFC massif on.

It will, he was decent for us and a shame he had some difficulties last season.

lets see....perhaps there are not many 4 times winners of the FA Cup in round 1
You're right, there aren't too many clubs living in the past.

ok........i wont go on about being past winners
Maybe its the facilities to host a live tv game, a modern stadium. A hotel to put all the crew up the night before/after. A train station within 200 yards and the motorway network within 1/4 of a mile.
A local Derby the chance of a giant killing.

There again what you lot down in lge 2 never had you wont miss

Had the draw been the other way around, I.e the non league team at home to the league 1 side I reckon there would be a very good chance of your game being on the box. In general the live TV games from the first 2 rounds tend to be the 'plucky' non league sides at home to the league sides, I.e hunting out a shock. There are plenty of non-league v league sides so I'd be surprised if your game was on Telly. It is one of the more intriguing draws to be fair, ignoring the location of the train station or the motorway which sound memorable.

Not sure what motorway and train stations have to do with TV coverage!

As you say would of been a classic one for TV if at Stockport but less interest in it at Bolton.

The Friday game will be one of the real small non league clubs at home probably Sudbury V Colchester

Sheff Weds will probably be on as the big club pull no doubt.

Salford the love in away at Dagenham maybe?

Bit of a tongue in cheek reply......Quite honest i am not expecting it to be on TV
It will be a decent crowd for the first round as i expect Stockport to bring a large following
Doubt i will be on as the cups have now been watered down

Yeah Salford almost certainly will be on. Agree about Sudbury also. Banbury v Barrow also stands out to me.

Personal bias maybe but Dorking Wanderers or Hayes & Yeading v Sutton could be as well. Dorking are local to Sutton and are conference south whilst Hayes & Yeading are step 3 of the pyramid, so quite low down.

Home to Horsham seems like about as good a draw as we could hope for. No expectations to get past them though.
Crawley use their ground as a training base. Horsham and Crawley abut each other (ooer missus). Good club, with some decent people involved but they're having a bit of a tough season fa cup excepted.

A lot more interesting than having Tranmere at home. Already seen they're really excited about playing us! Still it does mean a league 2 side in the next round and we won't be bothered by the telly men.

Corinthian Casuals or St Albans away, done St Albans before great memories of beating them over two legs in the FA Trophy semis in 99. Was only a kid at the time but that 3-2 win at home was one of the greatest days in our history. Over 3000 at The (old) Lawn and going mad at full time knowing we were off to (old) Wembley.

If it’s Corinthians then at least our superior shithousing should ensure no embarrassments. ;)

We’ll be away to familiar opponents Hayes & Yeading United in the 1st round following their penalty shootout win over Dorking Wanderers.
