This is the thread I thought Grimsby’s Cup exploits would be commented on; didn’t mean to cause any offence by not including in the L2 fixtures one. A great result for the Fishies!

Ditto. Great result for the Mariners. Pity it has been virtually over by other cup results. At least this forum isn`t part of the Great Wrexham Love In . Unlike the BBC and half of America it seems.

Is there anything more heartwarming in football than divisional solidarity? Thanks all.

I'd say even the draw at Luton was the more impressive one in the original round of results.

The thing I’m loving most about this cup run is that out of the 5 games played, 4 wins and a draw, we’ve deserved every result.
Usually with consistently beating teams from higher league you’d expect one or two smash and grab back to the walls but there haven’t been any, every result fully warranted.

Well done Grimsby. Fully expected you to get smashed in every round but sounds like very much deserved. They dropping ticket prices for your trip to Southampton?
Yeah £15, £5 concessions. Can't grumble about that at all.

Made even more so impressive due to the fact that we went there with pretty much every single attacking player at the club either injured, cup tied or ineligible too.

We've asked for the full 4,800 tickets. That's a big number for a TV game so far way from Cleethorpes. It's only 175 miles from my house though!

I'd be amazed if we take anywhere near that but there does seem to be a buzz about the match. Booked my train last night, went for the 10pm back to Waterloo. Hopefully we can dispatch them in normal time so I don't miss it.

Think Southampton should cough up for your travel expenses
As Crystal Palace did for us last season.

Top club Palace.
GOOD LUCK.

Just some buses and bus drivers would be good…school buses needed that day, two drivers needed for the trip to Soton. There was a shortage of drivers for the Play-off Final on a Sunday - the feckers didn’t want the overtime. No doubt the RMT will decide to strike that day and the day after. Flying will affect the carbon budget for our B Corp application And we’ve no trawlers left…there that’s all our excuses in…

Yeah there seems a buzz all over town with loads going who would never normally do a trip that long in midweek, it’s fallen right in the middle of my 4 days off so I’m driving down there too, I just thought to myself when will I see us in the 5th round again probably another 30 or so years so fuck it, plus there’s only 2 Prem teams that I’ve never seen us play in my lifetime which is Southampton and Man Utd so that’ll be one of them ticked off.

Tickets go on general sale on Monday, still only one ticket per season ticket holder, or if you are a member of the Trust or the 1878 Club currently.

Rumour has it around 1,800 gone so far, around 3,000 remaining.

1600 went on Monday to ST holders so I think it'll quite a bit more than 1800 when they announce it. If they can remember the password for Twitter that is.

3,628 tickets sold as of 14:00 today (Tuesday 21st Feb). Two home games before the actual game on Wednesday 1st March, plus a pay day (yes, we still have those in North East Lincolnshire); so we might even shift them all.

Got mine and my lads today, I’m driving it I must be off my fucking rocker but I just thought when will we be into the fifth round again? Possibly not again in my lifetime so why not.

Yep, very true and fair play for driving! I bought mine on Thursday, just waiting to receive it.

Sorry to be a boring old sod but we are not going.

Thought about it but I have a shitty feeling we are going to lose to Southampton's fringe and reserve lads, just can't see them playing their first 11 when they are in such dire straights at the moment. Getting beat by James Ward-Prowse and Co I could except, but unknown's no.

ITV 4 or a local pub for us.

Can’t believe I ever considered not going to this, setting off on the 5hr trip shortly. The reality of the task ahead is kicking in but I genuinely believe we’ve got a chance tonight, we always turn up in the big games and I just hope we do ourselves proud

‘Mon the Fishes! Do League Two proud! Sorry that Southampton have the most boring ‘big club’ stadium in the country.

Buzzing for this here too mate. Nice having a big game that isn't quite as stressful as three back to back playoff matches though. Last season was incredible but I think that Wrexham match took some time off my life.

Reading the Southampton forum, it seems like their new boss wants to get the ball down and their fans are all talking about their players having low energy. They also talked about how Paul Onuachu might start so they have option to lump it up to him, which I hope they do because Waterfall will mop up and we'll beat any side that's low energy to those second balls.

Working this morning and setting off about 3pm, can't go fast enough!

Southampton were absolutely dogshit earlier in the season against us and took two dodgy goals to get past us.

Sounds like even the city of Lincoln is behind us in this one?
