Dire again, a million premier league games yet Hughes sticks with the same crap midfield/Smallwood on set pieces etc. week after week, can’t help feel he’s too stubborn to change it because Stevie Wonder can see it’s not working.

Home form is dire as usual. Every team comes here and treats it as their cup final and we can't rise to it.

More likely 433? McDonald behind the front two, Cooke, Sylla, Featherstone midfield trio?
Maybe Cooke behind the front 2, who knows, we'll lose anyways

Decent first half though Tranmere have had some good chances too and one through on goal at 0-0 Holy did well to get out and block but really should have been 1-0 to them.

Gibson and Sho-Silva both playing well and share credit for the goal which Gibson scored, and from what I can see from down this end only an excellent save from the Tranmere keeper prevented Sho-Silva from making it 2-0. We have just missed having someone like Dennis or Edmondson who can be relied upon to be in the box waiting when the crosses come in, and we haven't shut Tranmere out so much as just about handling them defensively.

Start with no forwards and put 4 past the league 1 leaders by half time. :bl:

Looks like our lot fancy a free weekend. Our usual Cup shitness continues. 5 cup games, 5 losses.

League 1 showing League 2 how it's done at Crawley. Could moan about the first being offside but they are honestly a class above us.
Got to change something but God knows what...the whole midfield would be a start.

Some upsets on the cards at half time.

Alvechurch beating Cheltenham
Chesterfield beating Northampton
Chippenham beating Lincoln
Grimsby thrashing Plymouth
Hartlepool beating Solihull
Walsall beating Wycombe
Gillingham scoring a goal

You had to fucking jinx us didn't ya.

Sounds as though Carlisle well on top first half after Hemmings didn’t convert the early chance. Switched to 442

Hopefully Hurst learns from this and drops Taylor or at the very least stops playing him up front on his own.

On another note the standard between lge 1 and 2 is so small we'd piss that tinpot league!

Tranmere did have a goal disallowed in this half and if I'm honest I'm not sure what for. Holy was chipped on his line we were given a free kick but I must have missed the foul because I didn't even think there were any Tranmere players around him but maybe I just didn't see because it was the other end of the pitch.

As I write that we go 2-0 with a big slice of luck as Jayden Harris gets through on goal but doesn't really know what to do next, tries to round the keeper but ends up just tapping it at the near post only for the Tranmere defender sliding in to take it over the line. Will probably go down as an own goal.

Losing at home to Kings Lynn and to be fair if they were 4 up we couldn’t complain plus we can’t use the playing a weakened side card

Sounded like a really good game on the radio. Had enough chances to win that, but then they had theirs as well. 2-2 away at a good national league side isn't a bad result at all but Lacey going off crocked leaves us with one centre back.

Deserved to get beat at Chesterfield today who were bang up for it. Missed some big chances mind you, hitting the bar/post etc. Concerning slump in form.

won 1-0 at barrow.

We’ve won away at barrow 3 times this calendar year, has something similar to that been done before! ha

Joking apart - that is actually a really good result. Unlike Halifax, Solihull have kept their side together and they were worthy of their third place last season (just couldn't handle the Comeback Kings in the Final).

Wet conditions made it a scrappy game and it was a scrappy goal that won it. We deserved a draw but I imagine neither team wanted a replay. Mansfield defended well. Not going to lose any sleep over that if we keep it up in the league.

we didn’t win 1-0 in january was 3-1 but still odd to win away 3 times in a calendar year

Disappointing amount of 'shocks'. Today was a prime opportunity to accumulate some evidence to pull up the drawbridge between the Great 92 and the rest of the pyramid.

Not unexpected losing to Carlisle, sounded like a poor first half but Rovers making more of a fist of the game second half.

Sounds like a shambolic performance at Stockport today. Gladwin rested and Clayton injured (out for 4 weeks) and Baudry appears to have reverted to being woefully bad at the back which doesn't bode well.

Not hugely bothered as we have a 100% defeat record in cup games this season. Hopefully this is a kick up the arse for next week's game at home to Tranmere.

Walsall beat Wycombe, we smashed five past the L1 leaders and Hartlepool managed a draw at Solihull??
