You'd soon change your tune if you played Wednesday... Anyway there will be loads of viewers from the North West tuning in.

Bury v Rochdale has been on TV 3 out of the last 5 years, so the viewing figures must be decent for such a "horrendous" pick.

No problem with it being on in the league, thats fair enough but its not really a game that appeals to the magic of the fa cup is it. Theres a non league team playing at home its simple that should be on shouldnt it FACT. I wouldnt change my mind either if we played wednesday, people would rather watch lower league clubs play higher league clubs.

For what it's worth, I was dissapointed when we drew Rochdale, although it's a good fixture in isolation, it's not really what the cup is about and I'd rather have had a non league team, the only appeal is that it's away.

And as for Shewsburys game being on the Monday as apposed to Dale v Bury could be due to police. Another could be that Rochdale would lose more revenue in swapping the Derby to a Monday night than Grimsby would

My fellow Spireite (and the Blade) are correct. Welling v Carlisle should 100% have come before an all League One tie.

I suppose if you agree that the FA Cup in the early rounds is about supporting the minnows then it makes sense that they picked Bury and Rochdale.

I think it will be a tight game and certainly not a tie I fancied as a Shrewsbury fan. Our biggest problem this season is that we haven't had a settled side or formation, with what seems at least 2 changes every week. Our away form started off ok, but has severely tailed off, the last league away game at Vale being one of the worst performances I've seen in a while. There is some talent in the squad tho, just a case of bringing it out.

How has Disley been performing for Grimsby? Must have been with you a good few years now.

Apologies for the late reply mate. Yeah Disley is in his 5th season for us now and is still going strong. Exactly the type of player we never had when we were languishing around at the bottom of League Two and in our first year in The Conference. Club captain who leads the team. Great heart and commitment and over the past couple of seasons has developed a knack of popping up with late important goals when the chips are down. A firm favourite among the fans. I know he was well liked at Mansfield and Bristol Rovers before joining us, but never really read any opinions from Shrewsbury fans. How was he for you lot?

So then Round 2 this weekend.

Saturday
Leyton Orient vs Scunthorpe
Millwall vs Wycombe
Chesterfield vs Walsall
Sheffield United vs Oldham

Sunday
Rochdale vs Bury
Peterborough vs Luton
Exeter vs Port Vale
Cambridge vs Doncaster
Colchester vs Altrincham

Monday
Grimsby vs Shrewsbury

Candidate for the most boring 2nd round set of fixtures in history for League One clubs? Rochdale vs Bury aside, literally none of them have anything outstanding about them! 3 all League 1 ties too.

Dunno, there are a few talking points about these games.

Caretaker manager v Caretaker manager at Chesterfield v Walsall could be interesting. Sheff U and Oldham aren't in great form, cup defeat for the home team could spell the end for Adkins. Port Vale are pretty pish away from home, could Exeter spring at upset? Colchester are conceding goals left right and centre, could Altrincham spring an upset like they did against Barnsley? Not the most juicy set of fixtures, but interesting nonetheless.

Apologies, must have skipped over that one as I read down the list.

Meh, maybe. It's just you look down that and there's no real standout fixtures that make you want to watch on the spot. I would imagine that Adkins has a while yet before he gets the chop, unless they take a couple of really big nasty defeats, 3-0 tommorrow and then another similar result next week. Bradshaw won't be making the trip for us tommorrow, or it seems very unlikely anyway so that means Cook upfront for 90. Could bring Chesterfield back into that. Not really sure I want a replay, I'd rather win or go out, it's just another fixture/injury worry in a busy period if we get a replay.

Tricky but one we should be winning, I believe Exeter have a bit of an injury crisis in central midfield where we are strongest but knowing Page we will play for a replay!

Didn't think it would be very popular at all after 1400 to Shrewsbury on Tuesday and Christmas just around the corner - with people picking and choosing games + our shit support in general at home. However, according to someone on our forum, we have pre-sold 500 for Chesterfield Tommorow at the close of play today. With £12 pay on the gate, I'd expect maybe 600-650.

That would be a pretty good following if the numbers are true, certainly for the 2nd round.

I literally expected 350 tops after Tuesday night and it being the cup.

I think the events this week, us "losing" our manager and Walsall losing theirs have evened out tomorrow a little, they will rightly go in as favourites but for the first time in months i'm going to a home game not thinking we've been beat before a ball has been kicked.

Bradshaw limped off with a gash on his ankle the other night and we have recalled a youth striker from Kidderminster, so I'd absolutely amazed if he played any part in the game. Immediately that evens things out on the pitch. The only advantage we may have is confidence from Tuesday and the fact our care takers - Whitney especially have been part of WFC for yonks and yonks, so it shouldn't feel too different to what the players have experienced normally.

There's nothing exciting about Dale v Bury games. I hope you'll all be thrilled to see us both compliment each other to a 0-0 draw.

FA cup still interests people I think, especially a local enough away, 12 quid in and a third round chance.

Should be a decent turnout when you add the POTD fans as well.

Wanted to go but one too many in December !

Aye after Shrewsbury on Tuesday and with work obligations, unfortunately the same applies here.

Are Peterborough fans thinking this tie is boring? There are so many connections between our two clubs and around 2,000 Luton fans heading up the A1 tomorrow.

The lack of mentions on that one probably suggests that they are...don't think many people care about the FA Cup until the later rounds to be honest.

Same XI as Tuesday for us, except Cook starts upfront with Bradshaw out of the squad.

Proper shit goal to concede late on. Sounds like Chesterfield probably deserved it, but we just can't make a clean run through to the 3rd round with any sort of ease - ever!

763 Walsall in a 4,100 gate - Good following that and not a bad gate all round considering the weather and time of year.
