Always one of the highlights of the season, especially this year as it'll be a welcome break from the league.

Don't know why, we usually end being away to some club higher than us in the same league and then lose. On that basis I predict we'll get Hull away but would quite like a trip to Portsmouth. Or even Cambridge if they get through as I've never been, failing that one of the big boys at home would be alright.

Who do we fancy then?

Oxford, Oxford or Oxford...

But being realistic, just anyone below this division is fine.

Though given how far we went last season we're almost certainly going out in the third round this year.

When did you last play each other?

90s? I really can't remember many Reading Oxford games from the top of my head.

Last time we played Oxford was August 2004 in the League cup. 2001 was the last league meeting.

Whitehawk, home or away, would be unreal. Slim chance they'll make the draw, though.

Only chance of us being able to do some significant business in January is a massive away tie and subsequent replay that we win, followed by the same in the fourth round.

Not going to happen...

Anyone who we can beat - we haven't won in the FA Cup for five years.

We'll get Gillingham away whilst Leeds get United at home.

Or, Sod's law will have it that we get a big team at home whilst we have the reduced capacity...

Chelski, Spurs or L'pool away will suit me just fine.

Long enough then.

We've played Oxford probably 3 or 4 times in cups in the last 10 years.

Didn't realise that. I can't recall any major upsets, do you usually get tough ties?

Cambridge are winning so my trip there is on!

think they tend to get top-flight/Championship teams so not really noticeable when they lose. have a vague recollection that Preston (when in L1) knocked them out - the season before they did the same to us, I think.

Munkiki is correct, teams we've lost to in the last five years are Chelsea, Hull, Villa, Preston and Southampton. We save our losing to lower division teams for the League Cup.

Hope we have a decent run, worst case scenario is getting someone in the same league.

I want a big team. Lose the game and concentrate on the league.

Oxford away although they are struggling to beat Forest Green at the moment. If not away to a League 1 or 2 side where i havn't been.

More than likely though we will probably end up with a Championship side.

We've been pretty good in cups last couple of seasons. Hoping for a decent draw, either a home time against a shit team or away at one of the big 5/6

Five teams left with standing for away supporters. Brentford, Carlisle, Exeter, Newport and Salford.

Out of that bunch, Carlisle/Salford away would be nice. Failing that, Burnley at home.

Ahh, the battle of Cowley Road. Never forget.

A trip to Fratton Park would go down a treat.

Worst part of the night was the 40 minute bus journey back to Radley station as the police wouldn't let the buses go back to Oxford train station. Probably because of the amount of smashed bus windows on the outwood journey. Ended up missing the last train from Reading and had to pay £45 for a taxi home.

This will be the first time we've been in the third round in four seasons so I'm hoping for one of the big clubs.

Failing that, a trip to Huddersfield, Rotherham, Sheffield Wednesday, Bradford, Chesterfield or Walsall would be good as I've yet to go to those grounds. I absolutely DO NOT want Scummers or mini-Scummers (Eastleigh) though.

I was in the pub that got bricked before the game, absolute carnage.
