Yeah, I think we will really. A lot of regulars probably won't go but at £10 adults and £2 kids I expect a lot of people who don't go often will take this cheaper opportunity.

I'll probably end up going as got a cousin who's a Braintree fan and wants to see Danny Cowley again, otherwise I wouldn't bother! Think Micks got to give it a go in the cup this year as we won't go up or down by the looks of it!

Initial allocation of 4,100 now sold out for WBA.

Another 1,200 now on sale.

Lincoln have sold out the 4,200 allocation for Ipswich, but are waiting for a response from Suffolk Police to find out if they can have any more tickets.

If they don't let you have more I will be stunned. There will be about 7/8k home fans there. Not sure what stand you've got but if you have all the top of the usual away end there's a lower tier to be had as well. I'd guess behind one goal will probably be shut too.

Yeah we've sold out the top tier of that stand down the side, while the bottom tier is currently completely empty. We'll probably sell out that as well if we're allowed to.

The decision is down to the police though, not the club.

You're very optimistic!

I'm struggling to understand why we'd not be allowed the lower tier.

A decision needs to be made before our NYD game ideally, so people can get tickets. You'd have thought, given that 2,000 went in 2 days, that they would have thought up this scenario and had an answer ready.

Well, the 4th and final batch of 650 or so tickets got sold in 20 minutes this morning. Taken us up to 4,833 and I think we could have got up towards 6k comfortably.

Ipswich - "Give Lincoln more tickets!"
Lincoln - "Give us more tickets!"
Police - "No..."

Lots of excitement then? :animatedf:

We have Vale at home. No doubt we'll have a bit of cup run in the one season when we really don't want one, considering we've really been wanting one during our bottom half dullness of the previous 4 seasons.

So we are playing Fleetwood in the cup today. Reminded me of one of my favourite 70s and 80s bands, but looking at their song titles doesnt make for a very good prophecy:

"Landslide"
"oh well"
"Never going back again"
"Im so afraid"
"I dont want to know"
"Go your own way"

Arsenal at home. Strangely fancy us to nick a draw against their reserves. Probably get twatted now though.

At least we can now solely focus on the league..

EDIT: Where as all the teams around us are still currently in the competition, so will have extra games to play.

Predictable for us but for Tom Lawrence, bet he's wondering what he's got himself into by coming here.

Do they count against Forest at the mo?

Decent win for us, didn't expect us to be going through to the next round. I'd love a cup run, the momentum could be key for our league form too.

We were very poor, created next to nothing. What we gave was a masterclass on how to pass the ball around with zero effect.

Positives:
  1. The new players
  2. We didn't lose
  3. We kept a clean sheet

And if there is any team who knows how to shithouse a 1-0 win, it's Preston.

Decent effort from Burton - came to play and had good spells but didn't really look like scoring.

700 or so very vocal fans!

Only Hegeler I would really single out for praise of the new signings, he should've been in our midfield today instead of Smith and Taylor Moore should've been RCB...

I totally agree, Hegeler was a class above anything else on that pitch today IMHO. Wright did ok but didn't really have to do much, a couple of stupid fouls were a slight concern. Djuric had next to 0 service but I would hope that will come with time and possibly recruitment of players who can actually cross a ball!
I thought today was pretty boring TBH, maybe at the away game, Fleetwood will come out a bit more making for a better spectacle.

We were superb in the first half and only scored once from numerous chances, Arsenal much the better team in the second and score twice. That's what it comes down to.

Missing chances is a common theme for us but we would usually get away with a draw in the Championship.

It was game over as soon as they scored just after half time, they wear you down and punish you when the legs start to go.

Good performance though, Robinson, McGeady, Pearson and DJ were all superb. Everyone worked their bollocks off though.

Pearson is the best player I've ever seen in a Preston shirt. He's gonna break our transfer record by a big margin.
