....Alright, this is just us.

I trust we can rely on the support of the masses against the tyranny of the Salford Reds?

Bring it on!!

Now I know I'm going to sound like a right miserable sod but I can't wait until this is over, it's totally taken over our forum with people whinging and moaning about tickets.

As for the game, nelson is an absolute must starter, those who have any doubts just watch his cup final when playing for Kilmarnock against Celtic, they won 0-1 and he was immense, I know he still has that big game left in him, not only that but his partnership with coulson has been outstanding of late so both are first on the team sheet along with Dunn obviously oh add Taylor and tait to that as well, the rest I really don't know which way dickie will go, he likes a surprise.

I'd be very tempted to go with exactly the formation and personnel that we used to batter Newport. Obviously if Champion is out we'd need to find a replacement - Chadwick would be my first choice but I think he's out too? Not sure who else we have that can play that role.

It'll take something away from the match if Champs isn't crunching into tackles with Rooney, Mata and Di Maria.

As for the game, as long as we all sing until our lungs bleed and don't concede an early goal I'll be content. We're expected to lose heavily so if we keep it under 5 I'm happy!

You mean that team who's supporters come from deepest Surrey?

Phew, I was worried I'd be surrounded by their supporters when I watch the game in a Manchester pub on Friday.

Much more relaxed now

Yeah I'll be pleased when this is all over too. Don't get me wrong, it's great for the club but the circus of it all is a bit annoying. Half and half scarves just sum it up really, the fact our club is trying to cash in on it just makes it worse though I do see their reasons.

If we don't lose, I'll be scarily unbearable. I'm going to find every Man Utd fan I know and give them shit, even if we go up to Old Trafford and lose 10-0, they should beat us every time we play them given their playing staff and resources.

I gather that McGeehan played in a more advanced role for you at the weekend, but he can most definitely play as a holding/ball winning midfielder too. That's pretty much exclusively where he played for us and he was good at it too.

Yes he played just behind the striker against Newport. I always thought of him as a deeper lying midfielder before he joined us so I'd be reasonably content with him playing there. But he's no Tom Champion.

I imagine that's where he'll be playing on Friday then, Chadders/Donaldo in the more advanced position.

Personally I'd keep him further up the pitch, haven't had anyone making those kind of chances since berry left, providing champion is fit of course.

I have a hunch Champs will be fit.

Anyway, I'd go:

Dunn

Tait
Coulson
Nelson
Taylor

Donaldson
Champion
Simpson
Hughes
Dunk

Elliott

Pack the midfield and give the full backs wingers who will support them. Then Simpson can provide the link to Elliott if we somehow get out of our half.

This would also "reward" those who have played this season and last season (Nelson and Simpson aside). Chadwick, Chiedozie, Kaikai, McGeehan, Bird etc can come off the bench when we've run out of legs.

I've always hated those half and half scarves but I'll shamefully admit I have one from the Liverpool game. I won it on the raffle a few weeks after, they're not too bad as I have loads of scarves but it's not something that anyone should ever wear to a game!!

It's the FA Cup, who knows anything could happen. The likes of Di Maria won't know anything about Cambridge or playing at grounds like the Abbey. Hope all the Cambridge fans enjoy it!

Games like this are the magic of the FA Cup, exactly what it is all about - go out and enjoy it lads.

Falcao wouldn't of expected trips to Yeovil and Cambridge and may well never play there again but i'm sure they all know about the Cup itself.

Last week was a hassle sorting tickets out but got there in the end, there are certainly things the club did wrong, some they did right, and some that they can't be faulted for, but we've never had to deal with anything like this so I cut them a bit of a slack in some cases. The important thing is they learn from it, and I trust that they will, in reality the game probably came a year too early from an infrastructue perspective, but in the end I think 90% of the U's fans I know who wanted a ticket got one, so not terrible.

Thoroughly looking forward to it now, was too young for the Beck (mk I) years so this is completely new territory (although the profile of this games trumps anything we've ever played before), only seen us play 3 teams that were in the top flight at the time we played them, and no disrespect to Sheffield Wednesday, Nottingham Forest and Sunderland, but they don't come close to 2015 Manchester United.

The team is anyone's guess, as per usual. My one hope is that we score a "meaningful" goal, take the lead or equalise, anything more than that would be an unimaginable bonus.

Hopefully there aren't too many glory boys in the home end, and the place will be rocking. Bring 'em on.

Don't shoot me down, but the sooner we get this over and concentrate on the league the better. Don't get me wrong, I love the Fa Cup, but I'm getting fed up with the media circus and the inevitable David vs Goliath comparisons they come up with. Not to mention the countless mistakes they make when talking about us and our history.

Do I even need to mention the day trippers and plastic man ure fans?

Ps - football fans like me are a strange breed indeed. First we wanted a big PL side, and then we moan about all the silly things that inevitably happen before the big games.

Of course, wouldn't miss it for the world. Quite excited now, but then I am when it's this close to any of our kick offs. Just hope we give a good account of ourselves.

Been very impressed with Cambridge so far, I must say.

The football is physical and direct, but you have to do what you have to do against these big teams, it could be any scoreline trying to match them in a passing game.

Set pieces they look a huge threat, United just don't know how to deal with the sheer numbers of bodies in and around that 6 yard box, and how that chance from the corner a few minutes ago didn't drop in I'll never know.

This is shaping up to be a great cup tie, with a potential huge upset on the cards if the first 40 minutes is anything to go by!

Best of luck!

Great display by Cambridge Utd so far with Donaldson and Champion particularly impressing. Champion doesn't bear any resemblance to the spindly-legged teenager who played for us 10 years ago!

Manchester Utd look just as disjointed as they have done in the league. Wilson has hardly touched the ball while Falcao, Januzaj and Di Maria have been shocking.

£700,000 a week worth of players in just those two highlighted, shocking really isn't it, considering how Cambridge have more than matched them over the first 45 minutes.

I'd imagine that Cambridge's average annual turnover would cover that for 3 weeks!

Well done Cambridge, defended brilliantly 2nd half and more than held their own in the 1st well earned replay.

But honestly that was embarrassing from Man United, looked like us trying to score a goal from some of our recent games not a clue at points, but with apparent 'world class players'.

The trip to Old Trafford should pay for at least 3/4 of their yearly wage bill next season.

Well done Lads, enjoy the trip to OT

Well what to say? Lost for words with that atmosphere and defensive performance. I'll post something more eloquent tomorrow. :)

Bugger. Fuck. Wank

Talked myself out of putting my money on 0-0 just before KO and went for 1-0 United instead!

Great result for Cambridge, and a day out at Old Trafford!
