9 League 1 teams still in the FA Cup 3rd round.

The new look Salop team travel to Cardiff, with all new players available apart from Richie Wellens who is cup tied.

Don't really know what to expect from us as it will be a completely different team to the one that started at Chesterfield last week. Abu Ogogo who's started every game so far is certain to miss out after getting injured at Chesterfield last week.

I'll try and predict the starting 11:-

Leutwiler
Grimmer Gerrard Whitbread Knight-Percival Demetriou
Whalley Black Cole
Vassell Mangan

Where does everyone think the possible upsets will come from? Personally think Eastleigh, Wycombe, Northampton, Bristol City and Oxford all have a decent chance.

Good luck to all teams apart from Cardiff!

It would be nice for us to get into the 4th round for the first time in my life but I think it'll be a draw and Bradford will win the replay.

We've been in dreadful form recently so it's nice to have a small distraction.

Posh will beat us.

No reason to be overly pessimistic about going down there, every chance of losing as it's a cup tie but we've got the 5th best defence in the Championship and scoring goals in League One is a walk in the park as we've seen ourselves, so we've nothing to fear. Good time to rest Daniel Johnson and Paul Gallagher though, need to keep them fresh.

I reckon we'll grind out a 1 or 2 nil win.

Yeah I know, I've got us on my acca, was just doing the standard lowering expectations thing. Not entirely sure why I'm going tbh.

I just hope we put up a fight and don't just roll over like we usually do.

Charlton seem to be as bad as us in their respective division, but it is still a level above. We've been performing better and look more solid already under Keen, so it will be nice to have the league situation put to one side tomorrow. Should be an ok crowd so, for a one off, think we've got a reasonable chance.

Bradshaw and Henry back for us today. Smith will want to beat us and no doubt fire his troops up. I'm fairly sure he will get his '2 fingers up' at our fans, who will no doubt give him 95 minutes of total abuse and then be silenced by full time. I'd rather just give him a light round of applause for taking us from the bottom of the league, to the top before leaving for a better opportunity in the Championship and then focus on backing the side. The fact this has cost us Coventry away on a Saturday at the Ricoh where we could have taken 2,000 is an absolute piss take.

We won't though.

3-0 Brentford.

Dont think iv ever been as gutted about missing a match as what i am today. A 5.30 kick off in manchester with 8500 blades there of which thousands will be going on the train and taking boozer after boozer over it doesnt get much better really. Anyway il be watching from cape town come on you blades get that sneaky 1-0 win.

Tha's just gutted about kissing a piss up, sod the match! :p

No way I was laying £50 to go today + transport. Will be watching it somewhere, hope we don't draw and hope we don't get stuffed. Whatever else is fine. As much as I'd love us to beat Man Utd I wouldn't be gutted if we lost narrowly, whatever (very) slim chance we still have of promotion I'd rather we went for that and didn't bother with cups again...mainly for extra injuries/bookings sake.

Strangest thing of the day, Peterborough fans booing the referee off at HT despite him giving them absolutely everything.

YES - LOVE being a jinx. Seriously, everytime I get my hopes up - we do stupid stuff. Everytime I give up on us, we pull something out of the hat. What a win that is. Henry/Bradshaw play and SOD plays the system we used under Smith...shock...we beat our 3rd Championship side of the season.. (Brentford, Forest, Brighton).

GET IN.

At least 4 League One teams in the hat for the 4th round with ourselves, Walsall, Colchester and one of Bradford and Bury.

Plus Sheffield United, Scunthorpe and Shrewsbury have the chance to get through but all have very tricky away games.

We played really well today. Charlton weren't very good (which isn't a good sign when I'm used to watching us every week) but we still looked decent to be fair, thoroughly deserved the win and a one-goal margin arguably flattered them a bit. Still couldn't quite keep that clean sheet at the end but we've been much more solid under Keen and our attacking energy was back today. Good signs if we can keep going, just need the wins to follow in the league now.

Ref was shocking and in fact was the other way round he gave you lot everything. Should have been a few yellows dished out for fouls on Samuelson alone. Typical Grayson tactics (Didn't work though :p ).

I agree he seemed a lot more lenient with bookings for us but he gave you so so many soft free kicks that he wasn't giving us.

Not an excuse, we were shite and you fully deserved it.

Well we gave them a game, certainly didn't like there was 2 divisions and multi millions of difference. Had enough good chances to draw if not win, good atmosphere and game.

Couldn't get enthusiastic about yesterday's tie win lose or draw but did get a ticket for Wigan away which was called off on Boxing Day after I'd already set off.

If anyone is very short of something to do for the next hour or two our game at Cardiff (sorry Caerdydd) is being shown live on S4C (Sky 134 or via the S4C website), welsh commentary only though.

Up the Yr Amwythig! :bg:
