We can almost touch Wembley, we can picture ourselves walking down Wembley Way, just 7 games stands between our clubs and glory. I queued in the freezing cold yesterday morning to pick up my tickets for our match away at Stourbridge, our measly 381 allocation flew out the door in a couple of hours. Can see us narrowly squeezing through 1-0.

Away at Lincoln on the box next monday for us. Its a tricky one to call, Lincoln are going well and will be well up for it but at the end of the day, regardless of our position, we are 2 divisions above them.

I very rarely back us but I think we will sneak this one 2-1. Bookies have us 9/5 which is slightly tempting.

We are on another "no win" situation playing Macclesfield away on the BBC on Friday. We are expected to win but could easily lose. Although, we got a good point yesterday away at Scunny, in general our away form has been very bad. It doesn't help that regulars Chey Dunkley and John Lundstram (our skipper) are both suspended.

Hopefully, we win but I have a horrible feeling we will lose.

Already out, so I'll look forward to my Saturday night knowing it won't be spoiled by another toothless away loss

I know Lundstram is now suspended but how come Dunkley is too? He wasn't on 4 bookings going into Saturdays game, it was just Lundstram, Maguire and Hemmings wasn't it?
I expect Rothwell will come in for Lunny, which is a decent replacement.

Hartlepool at home on Sunday... should win but injuries and form doesn't bode well.

Failure to progress might see a repeat of Smurfs outburst after the Exeter debacle last year!

Wycombe at home for us. Obviously a good chance to progress but I won't bank on it as us and cup competitions don't really go..

:(It's my dad's memorial service on Sunday so I can't go to Curzon Ashton. My bro hasn't got BT sport either. Dons player it is.

Only going on what Radio Oxford said with regards Dunks. They seemed very sure he was suspended for this match, to the point they were discussing his replacements.

In response to barryspang.

We have Carlisle away. If it was a league game, we'd lose. As its the cup, we might sneak a replay.

2-2. Ex Daleys (and very competent players) Jason Kennedy and Nicky Adams for the Foxes; Joe Thompson and Harrison McGahey becoming the 15th and 16th Rochdale goalscorers this season in reply...:)

Our Lincoln game is huge. We are desperate for the money and if we don't win and draw a big name in the third away we are really in the proverbial.

Supporting latics has really become about knowing the financial services as much as what is going on on the pitch. More so even

We have a Brain Tree at home, whatever that is. It'll probably beat us.

It's threads like this that make me realise how poor our league is this year. It seems like there's about 4 teams doing well and the rest of us are just trying to out crap each other! Virtually every club in the league seems to be very up and down.

RefWatch; Ref for Sunday's Curzon TV FA Cup game is James 'Eastlands' Adcock, 32, from Long Eaton. FL ref since '11 and is one of the 18 full time SG2 refs who mainly do Championship & lower league TV games. Dad David was a FL lino for years, and his brother is also a ref, which sounds like a fantastically fun household. Used be a PE teacher & looks like an athlete - all toned muscles, big cheekbones & gorgeous hair - which makes a nice change from the horrifically pudgy limping Stevie Wonder motherfuckers we usually get.

Reffed Wombles 4 times; 4-1 loss away to York in Feb '11 in the Conference (1Y); knicker-wetting play-off victory over Luton at Eastlands in May '11 (5Y); 3-0 home loss to Cobblers in Sept '11 (3Y, 1R); 2-0 home win v Torquay in April '12 (5Y). Never reffed Curzon. Hates the scum. Reffed them once against Wigan & they lost. Hates them. In 18 games this season he's given 55Y & 1R - average.

James Adcock = Sad Jock Came. Ed Jam A Cock.
KettleWatch; Shrews v Fleetwood in the Cup on Sat. He's becoming worryingly normal - only 5Y & no pens in his last 2 games since the Cambridge debacle.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Just so Wimbledon fans an idea of size of club they face, Curzon get about 200-250 fans most games and was just 193 there on Monday....... They may not play at the lowest level in this cup, but I would say they are smallest club left in it.

Set-up will shock them as its fantastic. An excellent ground and a superb pitch given a lot of care because Curzon play an all passing game.

It means that unless we radically change our game plan this is tough for us as there will be no massed hoof, no hope off a set piece etc etc....it will be pass and build from the back and trying to walk ball in.

Means a real tough ask for us to as such outplay a l1 team with the ball, but our approach may shock them which could help.

Should be too tough for us, but its the fa cup and brackley in 1st round gave hope

Id like to think the fa cup brings people out, plus I expect support from the football area, Tameside is one weird football area, it could have one good sized fl team, instead it has 6 small non league clubs getting 100-300 each. We got 1300 vs westfields so I think other fans turn up, plus Oldham and dale and city fans.

Expect 2000

We were playing smaller clubs than that week-in, week-out in the Combined Counties League only 10 years ago and there are people like Simon Bassey still behind the scenes from that time. A good number of the squad have also paid their dues in non-league, albeit at a higher level, so I think it's very unlikely that we'll treat Curzon Ashton with anything other than complete respect. Should be an absolute cracker of an occasion but think we'll have too much, unless we start with Tyrone Barnett up front.

If you fancy backing an underdog I'd seriously consider putting a few quid on Barrow to beat Rovers.

Barrow are currently on a 22 match unbeaten run which stretches back to the middle of August! They score lots of goals and concede very few. They're in superb form and go into this one very confident having recently had 4-0 wins against fellow promotion chasers Eastleigh and Dagenham.

Rovers on the other hand are in very poor form picking up just 1 point from their last 4 games which included a 4-0 loss at Millwall, a 5-1 loss at home to Charlton and a 3-2 loss at Chesterfield. The way we're defending at the moment we'll probably need to score 6 to win!

When you factor in Rovers recent record in cup competitions an upset looks even more likely. In the last couple of years Rovers have lost at home to Bath in the FA Trophy and last year were involved in the biggest shock of the competition when we were beat 1-0 at home by Chesham!

Rovers 1-3 Barrow

I've noticed GasAttack (and this is not meant as a criticism in any way!) doesn't show much confidence or optimism ahead of any Rovers game - a sign that he's a long-suffering Gashead who has come to expect a kick in the balls around every corner! I certainly don't blame him for being so cautious, and given our run of form recently, it isn't beyond the realms of possibility that Barrow could do a number on us as he is suggesting.

I've got a lot of faith in our squad still and whilst I don't think we're consistent enough to be a genuine League One play-off contender (as it stands), I do think we have a decent team that isn't getting much luck at the moment. Every shot the opposition have is going in, we've had harsh red cards, injuries to players after we've used all our subs and officials who fail to award blatant penalty decisions our way when we're clear through on goal. Defensively there is an issue, but we are competitive in every game and look a decent team going forward and that will always gives us a chance.

Fully aware of Barrow's threat but as much as it could be a banana skin, it could also be the perfect game for us to get back on track. Fingers crossed we can get to the third round and land a good tie.
