See Kettering manager is moaning about standard of refereeing last night against leamington, any team that a player confronts the ref and makes contact deserves everything coming to him, then finish with 8 players.
Seeing the thuggery they used against us in league it’s been coming.
Awful manager and typical Cox team.

More of a slap on the arm rather than a wack but still as you say excuses for physical or verbal assault.

Sounds like the guy had a bit of history too.

We made 6 or 7 changes last night and still managed to go through. Still annoys me this takes precedence over the league, our home game v Halifax has been moved.

That is assuming we don't null & void.

We're supposed to be playing at Southport on Saturday but I see that's one of the areas with the SA variant of Covid. Not sure what this means for the game, should we really be travelling in and out of the area? Especially as I assume they're part time so some of their players are likely to be out at work in the week.

There's an interview with our chairman gone up on our website this afternoon. Apparently you aren't routinely testing your own players, and had no plans to test then even though you're coming up here and having an overnight stay. We have offered to pay for your tests as well as our own, as whilst we don't think we should be playing football right now we want to do it as safely as possible if we have to play.

Over to you guys now, let's see what type of club you are.

If your refusing to carry on playing in the league how can you justify playing in trophy?
Fucking double standards.

Havant will be interesting on this. One of the first to call for the suspension in the south, but have been quite proactively advertising their stream for the game against Notts on Saturday..

What time in the interview does he say this? Don't really want to sit through 22 minutes of him droning on.

Looking at their website they are planning on playing, some on their forum are questioning if we don’t want to play or travel they should be awarded the tie.

Double standards Darlo.

Fucking double standards.

If you listen to the interview (you can probably start from around 5:30 onwards) it explains it. There is a guaranteed income from fulfilling an FA Trophy tie, which we are willing to use to test both teams and support staff. There is no funding to help ensure the safety of players and staff involved in league games. Ian Kyle even says if Torquay refuse our offer then we have a difficult decision to make.

The other part of the interview explains the solidarity with other clubs in our league, all of whom started the season in good faith that grants were in place to replace not being able to have fans in, and could face financial ruin.

Solidarity with other clubs is something shithouse clubs like yourself just don't understand. Hell, you even wanted to start the season without fans or any guaranteed funding, then kicked up a fuss when you felt you weren't allocated enough of the funding. Fucking double standards.

Start from around 12:50 onwards, saves listing to a lot of detail that probably won't affect your team.

Cheers. Can't see any reason why we wouldn't take you up on the offer, we've taken the Trophy seriously so far so would be keen to get the game on if possible I would have thought.

Last week we circulated information to fellow National League North members regarding the availability of lateral flow testing and how it has now become very affordable. Rapid testing programmes are not perfect but provide a very useful tool in detecting infection in asymptomatic individuals. The costs are now down to £5.25 per test, and because of that we are testing twice a week, so for 30 players and staff it’s £315. Clubs do not need to test twice a week – that decision lies entirely with the football club – but once a week will cost £157.50. We also suggested that it would not be unreasonable to ask the players to pay/donate themselves if clubs are really struggling. Since that time, in fact early this morning, Sport England have now verbally given assurances that they will be paying for these tests in the future.
Pasted from Flyde website, testing isn’t a problem for league games as sport England are covering it.
So basically because you can make a profit from game you can play trophy absolute joke.

Advising clubs who have minimal income about something that will incur an additional cost is hardly helpful. Sport England offering to cover the cost is helpful, and is new information to me, so thanks for that. It might be part of the puzzle solved.

Saying we can play the Torquay game and make a profit from it though may be pushing it a bit. The only other income we've had this year has been from the Halifax FA Trophy match (around £1200 from streaming, plus the fee for winning), and whatever we got from David Morgan's transfer to Accrington (club say it's undisclosed, Sky Sports News had it as a free transfer). Any money may cover the some of the wage bill. Shouldn't mean we change our stance in regards to acting in the best interests of other less fortunate clubs in our league. If we hadn't all been sold down the river we wouldn't be in this situation in the first place.

When you say Darlo have been very vocal about stopping the season. I think you mean, Darlo have been vocal about not being willing to take on debt to play the season when that was not the basis set out when play started. Our fans have worked incredibly hard to clear the club of debts and put us on a solid financial footing. We were one of the clubs to miss out on the Lottery funding on a funding per fan basis. But we didn't complain we continued to work within our means and play. We have since questioned why we should be forced to take out loans when the season commenced on the basis that grants would be provided.

We also believe that as a club we should be protecting the health of PT players as much as possible. Then again yes you're right. I think that is a sensible suggestion. If as you say later on in your posts that the testing issue has been resolved then brilliant, we can focus on the remaining issues.

But keep clinging to the we sold Bootham Cresent and Ben Godfrey so we'll be fine and don't have to think about anything or anyone else. How many millions do you owe to McGill and Co already? Looks like £8million at June 2019, some more liabilities won't make a dent.

I'm not sure what will be happening about this weekends game. The club is hardly pushing it. We have a very good quality stream that it could be pushing but it hasn't. I think as has always been the case with the national league board we just have to wait and see.

Seen has you are very aware of our finances, you will realise that we need a grant like you, also got lowest allowance from earlier one in league,
My point is league should be finished for integrity of league.
Clubs who are refusing to play in league should not be able to play in trophy because of prize money,it’s a piss take.

I agree about grants and if these grants are not provided what do you suggest then? As they don't seem to be on the table, your solution above is to just continue with loans. I wonder is that just because you're so indebted to your owner than in reality taking loans for the rest of the season would make no difference? What about clubs who have no money man? Clubs who from a cashflow perspective might struggle to get through 4 to 6 weeks without revenue until any loan income would arrive?

Saying the league should be finished for the integrity of the league, when clubs are being forced to take loans to complete is crazy. Are you saying the integrity of the league wouldn't be effected by some clubs ability to repay loans in the future, so they play lesser teams to incur less cost? Considering the league has U-turned on taking out loans themselves it shows you exactly what business owners with limited revenue are thinking. If it was as safe and easy as those who say 'but there is an interest holiday and you get 20 years to pay it back'. If its so simple why would the league not continue with its offer to take out the loan and reclaim them through reduced central distributions? Its because they, like the clubs themselves, have absolutely no certainty over their ability to make any repayments and so to take the loan would be to trade insolvently. Which puts directors of company's personally at risk.

I'm similarly of the opinion that if the vote is concluded and that the result is the conclusion of the NLN, then we should withdraw from the FA Trophy immediately and hibernate the club and leave ourselves in the best possible position for next year. But with no information on what is happen at present, then expecting us to declare/withdraw weeks before is a bit of a stretch.

I couldn't really give a fly f*** if National League clubs wants to burden themselves with debt to keep playing. My concern is for my club interests (as I'm sure yours is, you have a chance of winning the league after all) and I do not believe it is in my clubs interests to take on debt to finish a fragmented season when we have no certainty over revenues to pay off these debts and our fans have worked hard to get us to a point of being debt free. So I'd fully support our CEO in voting to decide NL and NLN/NLS separately and then voting to end the season and then withdrawing us from the FA Trophy.

Despite the Covid issues in Southport our game definitely goes ahead. Sounds like Ben Wynter will get a must needed game from his injury. Will probably start Street up front too.

Wynter is coming!;)

He's the player we miss the most I think, offers so much at both ends of the pitch. Give him a half tomorrow I would say, other than that we don't have enough available players to rest many of the side so it will be a strong XI we put out.

Nah, in our long and illustrious history, we have never played at Wembley. Fingers crossed, I think social distancing would not be a problem.
That's put the mockers on it for tomorrow then..

I expect us to be a bit rusty tomorrow after only playing once in January. Good of your club to agree to the testing to get the game on (although I don't agree with our level of football going ahead at the moment, I'd rather it be safe for those there if it does).

There is a fair chance it could be the last game we play this season. I never thought I'd be saying that in February of any season.

Looking forward to today’s game, hoping Rowe gives a number of the fringe players a go to see which ones have what it takes to get into the starting XI as we’re gonna need the whole squad contributing if we’re going to get where we want to be in the league...

I can’t see it being a spectacle of any sort given the state of the pitch from what I’ve seen on twitter mind...

Aren’t all the fringe players furloughed, I suppose it gives the chance of the others getting vaccinated :ohm:
