Fa Trophy and Fa Vase 2015/16 festival

The FA are trying to bring together the Trophy and Vase finals on the same day to attract more neutrals. They hope to make May 22nd Non League final day.

Attracts a better audience, fans of all teams and neutrals.. although don't know how it would work with ends for the 4 sets of fans, albeit won't be same attendance, but could probably follow the example of the Emirates Cup.

Notice the snippet at the end that the scrapping of funding has been scrapped. More good news.

I guess all 4 clubs would get a corner section each?

Agree its a good idea and would promote both finals better and should attract a better crowd. Also having the final in May should also help fixture congestion in January and February as we wont need to play 4 rounds of the FA Trophy in 6 weeks!

Fantastic news all round, and exactly what is needed.

Could a case be put forward to shift the semis to post-season too? Probably not, but it presents a backlog of fixtures even for sides who actually have well-kept pitches. Regardless, just this change will make it more appetising to the larger Conference teams who (100% reasonably) prioritise promotion. I welcome all proper efforts to make the Trophy remotely interesting.

The only issue with this would be if a club makes the playoffs and the trophy semis there could be a clash between both as they would have to be on the same weekend in that scenario I would guess.
