Any footballers who support your clubs? Peter Whittingham is a massive Cov fan who got released by us when he was younger and he never celebrates us when he scores against us which is every fucking time.

Daniel Day-Lewis. Spotted at both our play-off finals and namechecked us in his BAFTA acceptance speech.

I can't think of a single famous fan for us.

In fact I can't think of anyone famous from the town at all. Even joe"into the light" Jackson left.....(google him if you are born after the 80s)

Gary and Phil Neville, Danny Boyle, Steve Berry (ex Top Gear), Mike Read (ex Radio One DJ), Scott Quigg (boxer). Apparently Mark E Smith of The Fall is a Bury fan too. Not convinced of that one though.

Read Mark E's book. His a Man City fan but says he used to watch Bury.

Steve Lamacq from the radio is a big U's fan, seen regularly at games all around the country. Colin Lloyd the darts player is also a fan.

Millwall can claim Gary Oldman and Daniel Day-Lewis.
No one else is going to come close to those 2.

Always see Nick Collins in the Medway Stand concourse at HT, have a chuckle when I remember him stacking it on Sky Sports News that time.

Isn't it her husband who supports you, and not her, and she just tags along with him sometimes?
Her husband does support us, yes. However I think that she admitted to supporting us when asked which team she supported at a football charity event.

Don't think Michael Parkinson has ever been a Barnsley fan, just shows up in the executive boxes if we ever get to Wembley or Cardiff. Darren Gough maybe, though I have my suspicions about him too, pretty sure he's a Spurs fan. Dickie Bird has a season ticket I believe so fair enough.

Shaun Dooley, TV, stage and film actor, is a genuine fan. One of those actors who pops up now and again and you think, oh it's that guy from that film/tv show. Former world darts champion Dennis Priestley is also a genuine fan, though he does claim to follow Man Utd too.

Footballers/former players? Mick McCarthy grew up following Leeds in the 60's but was converted to his home town club after becoming a legend at Oakwell, David Hirst probably went the other way with Wednesday after his spell there, but I know he follows Barnsley at least to the extent of someone from the town who started his career here. Jon Parkin has been seen in the Ponte end at Oakwell on quite a few occasions.

No one there that you should be owning up to.
Haha!

Clarkson only started supporting us when we became slightly less shit. There's a brilliant clip somewhere of him visiting our old ground when we were bottom of the conference. Everything about the game he went to was tinpot; players fighting, own goals and our then chairman Sir John Ryan swearing at the players. Some fans are very bitter about him (Clarkson) for that because he was poking fun at some of the more erm interesting looking locals and was poking fun at how bad we were but it was all in good jest.

'and when he sees a Forest fan, he injects all fucking night ohhhhhhh....Shipman is a Notts fan, he wears a doctor's hat.'

Always get some disgusted looking faces whenever the lads whip that tune out at away games.

Why would he inject all night? Surely one injection would be enough to kill someone? I'm not surprised you get funny looks.

Maybe, just maybe, he may be injecting more than just one person? :eyes:
