You can get the 135 which take slightly longer than the met depending on traffic. Drops you right near the ground.

You can catch it from Piccadilly gardens in Manchester.

It's normally £20-£25 from Manchester to my house (which 30 seconds from the ground) don't let them mug you off and charge you more. Agree a price before you set off.
