You're being given the Skircoat Stand and North Stand on Saturday. The Skircoat is the old seater stand with the pitched roof and the North is the large terrace, would hold 4,000 if it had adequate bogs.

The only two soccerball franchises that have been given this privilege since the ground was redeveloped are Bratfud City and Luton, that's how special you are. Threadworthy levels of special. No but seriously, it really spices the affair up for us home fans.

Enjoy it, looking forward to a great atmosphere, and if any of you know fowk from Calderdale please can you tell them to start supporting their local team so we're not embarrassingly outnumbered?

The last two weeks will have dramatically reduced our support. Had we beaten Gateshead and B'wood, I'd have expected 1500-1700 would make the trip. Unfortunately, I can see 1100 max.

First time playing Halifax on a Saturday since being down here so it should be good fun. Expecting the game to be a lot harder than the reverse fixture:cool1:.

Will also be attending myself. That 4-0 still counts as the worst Grimsby game I've been to. Halifax fans, what's that pub called down the hill behind all the old industrial building called? Was going to venture their before the game.

1,100 muted fans will still be absolutely splendid and knocking one our home contingent. A real ball compared to the 50 from southern sides every other home game. It'll be harder yes, but I'd still be delighted taking any points off you in any manner bar half our players getting injured and suspended.

The 4–0 was amazing, Dan Gardner now at Chesterfield had his head on that night, and when he does he's extremely good. One of the top individual performances from any player since we came back up, and enough to win him man of the match even for a feisty League One fixture. Came in expecting to lose and came out as happy as I've been with us barring a promotion winning game, and enjoyed the Mariners in the Three Pigeons after the game who were singing Always Look on the Bright Side of Life.

I think you mean the Shears if it's a squat pub down the cobbles above the river. Used to go there as a littlun before it was gutted out a bit to serve meals.

Despite the annoyance, muted we won't be. The regular bunch of followers will continue to sing no matter what happens (except maybe another 4-0 loss).

That 4-0 was the only game I've left early because of the performance. Hurst's first game in charge and you do that to us; probably a sign of what was to come. Never seen a side counterattack us so well as you did that night.

Thanks for the info. We missed the first 10 minutes of last seasons game because we ordered our food at 7:30!

Class yeah. I stuck out the Cheltenham home game and sat at home watching the updates for our reverse fixture feeling absolutely destroyed. I don't think it'll be quite that Norwich/Colchester contest several seasons ago when the Canaries dropped down, lost 7–0 to them first game, and responded later that season with a 6–0 win. The tensest 2–1 of all time would be massive for us but we're probably gonna just be happy with a decent crowd.

Recommend the Three Pigeons before for wonderful drinks in a wonderful place although it'll be packed to the rafters.

Now, now, we're not all tinpot down South, we usually manage a couple of hundred up there, but this year should be different, our game at Halifax has been marked down as the Tour of Duty game, so would hope 5-600 make the effort.

Another recommendation for the Three Pigeons too, great little juicer.

Nah your lot are good at the whole going up north drill. Came back in decent numbers after being whupped two seasons ago too. Glad you're turning out in such force too, should send our stewards into meltdown over which bottlecap to confiscate first! Another massive game for us too, as they all are.

Did anyone know that the Three Pigeons is one of only three art deco pubs in Britain, and the only one outside Nottingham? Stay put for more Pliny trivia.

Hate to be a pedant but didn't we give it to Cambridge in the play offs as well? Not that they had the numbers to require it really, we were just feeling nice

Yeah, but they only had that wedge of the East Stand then. Brought about 500.

Just browsing the Grimsby thread in your forum Pliny, and I get the impression that TJ is not the most popular guy on there!

Dreadful, what a load of rubbish.

Its this kind of antagonising which causes friction between fans and police in the first place. Why not let them be and deal with any trouble if and when it comes?

Because you can't make a guaranteed income off the football club that way.

Following the friendly welcome message from WYP myself and 3 friends (apart from the driver) will be having a few beers in our local before leaving in time to get there for kick off. (No hold ups on the M62 please)

They've also stopped a coach full travelling at all tomorrow.

All they've done is built up this game themselves, we bring big numbers but I'm unaware of any arrests this season? So why treat them that way? Any hostile actions tomorrow will have been as an almost direct result of this build up by them.

 Funniest fella in Halifax. He doesn't even need an empty room to start a fight in. Here's a conversation I had with him a few months ago. He deleted the whole thing once those lasses commented on it, and messaged me saying sorry and that he got the ISIS flag mixed up with the LGBT one.

That bit where ewalsh told him he only has one braincell up top on the Grimsby thread made me lose it.

Oh I didn't realise he was an arsehole as well as an idiot.

I'll feel less bad mocking him in the future.
