This must be a huge game if it has got its own thread, do I need to find a stream?

There used to be single threads for every game but that ceased after some only had three or four replies.
Barrow have quite a few members on this forum so it might be worthwhile for one of them to create a single thread when they have a game of interest in the offing, such as Barrow verses Carlisle.

You sound jealous! One of the previous FGR/TRFC threads on here went on for ages, always seems to be something to talk about when these two meet up.

Seems Tranmere have moved on from having Rivals 45 miles away to now having them 240 miles away

Whereas Horwich fans obsession with us knows no bounds. Even though your ‘real’rivals are Man Utd….
yes that is correct because we have spent 80 odd years in the top flight
maybe you should be looking nearer home to a local team you now play regularly against like say Everton u21 or Liverpool U21
Nah we dont have a obsession with you just find your club amusing

We're a decent side for sure this season, but things still haven't shaken out. We're still nervous at home. Port Vale showed how to beat us, closing down allowing no space to play. Anyone who does the same must be in with a shout. A draw would be my guess. Expecting plenty of gamesmanship and a frustrating game.

No, we're hitting our stride now and this will be the team going up to the next level; win by two clear goals in a game that's competitive but we largely control. Then all aboard HMS Piss The League and set sail for the sunset :D

Unchanged Rovers team and subs, so still no keeper on the bench.

Never thought this lot would be a pushover and so they aren't: maybe nudging Exeter for the title of the best side we've faced in the league so far this season.

Our defence has been mostly excellent, Dom Bernard playing particularly well, but our attack has lacked both focus and precision at times.

Could go either way....

An even tussle, end to end, great to watch. Either one moment of magic or one mistake may settle it You suspect playing at this tempo will result in tired legs latter in the second half. We've missed a few good chances. Aitchison will be first to be replaced, not taking responsibility enough, or just pushed off the ball. Needs Adams on to give a bit more bite u front. Wilson easily our most dangerous player.

The TRFC commentary suggests Forest Green edging a fairly close game so far.

That's the impression I'm getting from ours too, they've mentioned you've worked our keeper more than anyone else this season but we seem to be getting up there that little bit more regularly. A bit of luck or magic might decide it.

Fair play to Rob Edwards for bringing a striker on when Tranmere went down to ten, but couldn't press home the advantage and tbf a draw sounds fair.

Two good sides battling out a draw there. 36 shots between the teams so not exactly a bore draw! Very happy with a point against a side that will be there or thereabouts this season.

A gripping game. We didn't deserve to win (nor to lose), but the relief in keeping a clean sheet is palpable.

Tranmere a decent side but aren’t half niggly bastards. The amount of shirt pulling on Matt and Stevens was getting silly.

Bit of an incident at the end when their keeper got hit in the face by a ball being chucked back at him by the South Stand and kicked off along with their fat no 26 was actually pretty funny as he’d been taking the piss time wasting and such.

They started well hit the bar but overall we had a lot more of the pressure hit the woodwork twice etc so if anyone deserved the three points would have been us, but tbf they’re a solid unit and looked dangerous on the break so will take a point.

I doubt you’d call veteran defender Peter Clarke fat to his face. Don’t think he’s that obese either.

Terrific atmosphere at TNL - both sets of fans were cheering on their own team.
Funny at times when 'C'mon Rovers' was called out by both Tranmere and FG supporters.
And it is not often when both sets of fans are in full cry as happened at 60 minute: Tranmere goalkeeper makes an absolutely stonking save, kicks ball upfield and within seconds his team are seriously threatening FGR goalkeeper.
Both sets of fans had a drummer - brilliant.

Not a hard or dirty game by any means so number of cards handed out not true reflection of play.

Attendance: 2,356 with 430 from Tranmere.
Safe journey home guys.

FGR's MoM: Kane Wilson
MoM award is one I certainly agree with.

Always a decent game between the two sides, particularly at the lawn. Remember a 2-2 in our national league years which was possibly the best advert for that division you could expect to see.

Forest Green have tended to play openly and on the deck, which has helped make for a good spectacle. When the football hasn't been as pretty, there's been drama instead. Never dull.

I'm glad our fans seem to be 'respecting the point' here and not focusing on the fact we still haven't scored an away goal in the league (dear oh dear). Taken on its own, it's a solid performance against the league leaders with at least the intent to score this time, and a nice springboard for the two home games coming up, where we've been strong so far.

I think most TRFC fans will be grateful for the point. It didn't sound like a typical 0-0 with both teams having a go and some good saves from the keepers.

I thought it was an entertaining game between two good teams, and a draw was the right result.

Forest Green looked inventive with their rotation and probing in the attacking third, and I think they would have breached inferior defences this afternoon, but likewise our display would have been good enough to beat most teams at this level. Kieron Morris was outstanding in the number ten position.

I thought Kane Wilson was FGR's best player, and offers much more than a conventional full back, as we saw ourselves a couple of seasons ago.

Finally, after all the nonsense we have had from FGR over the years, it was great to see some s*ithousery of our own this afternoon, with Peter Clarke's bit of 'banter' with the home fans, which was really just a clever time-wasting ruse when we were down to ten men.

Yeah, I bet if Man United listed their five biggest rivals you would be in there.

Agree with you there, as far as 0-0 draws go that was pretty fine entertainment, it would have taken an off day by both defences for it to have been much different. Mind you the score could have been 1-1 within the first couple of minutes, both teams creating decent chances to score.

Kane Wilson is an absolute gem, a really gifted player, it is a privilege to watch him play...his distribution yesterday was spot-on, most defences don't really know what to do with him...I suspect he is already on the radar of teams higher up the league, would be very surprised if he is still with us next season.

He may have been trying to waste time but the referee pointed to his watch a few times, presumably to indicate that any time lost would be added on. It would have been nice to have secured all three points but it does feel like we have avoided a potential trip-hazard, which hasn't always been the case for us, so onwards and upwards!
