I have supported Burton Albion for nearly 50 years, Nigel Clough did a magnificent job for 10 years at the club before he was poached by the sheep. He worked in tandem with the best chairman in the country(Ben Robinson) and built the club up year upon year. Roy McFarland blew a 21 point lead at the top of the Conference but we just managed to limp over the line. Paul Peschisolido got us established in the league but ended up getting sacked after a spell of 17 games without a win and for having no plan B. Gary Rowett having ended his playing days with the club was there as assistant manager from when we started out in the football league. On becoming manager he stamped his mark on the club and turned us into a much tougher and professional side that was very hard to beat. Unfortunately he was lured to one of his former clubs Birmingham City. In came Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and David Oldfield and they altered the playing style slightly and moved us up another gear. Their style of management has brought fantastic results for the club and we find ourselves in the amazing position of top of league one.
Have no fear QPR fans you have got a brilliant managerial duo. They will manage at the very top of their profession, of that I have no doubt.
Out of interest, would you take Nigel Clough back as manager?

Without a doubt ! Interestingly I'm reading that Chris Ramsey is going to be Jimmy's assistant at QPR, where does that leave David Oldfield ? I certainly having spoken to him personally previously have no problems with him being Burton's next manager.

Bet he wishes he'd joined Fulham now...

He still might of course, but it'd be a bit weird if they went back in for someone who eventually turned them down.

Untrue, I believe that David Oldfield will be joining him at QPR. Warnock has also left QPR weeks after he joined.

Yes David Oldfield is with Jimmy at QPR, great appointments for you, I will be very surprised if QPR don't get a play off spot now.

Cotterill has offered his resignation to Steve Lansdown this morning, apparently.

If so, I have nothing but respect for the bloke. Interests of the club at heart, and walking with his dignity in tact.

Will get a standing ovation from me if he ever returns to AG.

Why do people refer to OTIB like it's a person?

That bloke got a fair few things right in the summer IIRC, but I bloody hope he's spouting shite this time.

I am sceptical but agree with your sentiment. Huge respect IF this is true. We will find out soon I guess.

Thought we'd make a fast appointment, looks like it's going to be a slow one. Not surprised given there hardly appears to be anyone of any real quality available

Looks like it's Brian.

Meh, could have been better, could have been worse. Legend, but he did have his limitations originally and the club had seemingly moved on.

Better than Clarke at least.

Not sure how it will work out for a second time but I have a hell of a lot of respect for Brian and hope he does a good job. Nice to see him back in management if this is right. Without doubt one of the most well thought-of managers in our recent history for all it wasn't exactly a long reign.

What is the fascination with giving previously sacked managers a second go? It's happened countless times in recent seasons.

Because it's working.. Pulis (Stoke), Pearson (Leicester) and Howe (Bournemouth) have all got promoted out of this division with previously sacked managers. They know the clubs better than any other candidate and probably have the managerial experience to match the demands of the job.

In our case it's not that surprising, Brian was hired by Sir John, sacked by Zingarevich and will be hired again by the Thai's/Sir John. If it wasn't for the Russian's he could probably have still been manager now.

Will be far more loyal to us than Clarke, won't go swanning off to interview other clubs. A few years ago when he was linked to the Wolves job he said that the only jobs he would consider over being manager of Reading would be Republic of Ireland or Arsenal manager. So we should be safe.

Nope, apparently it was all set to be announced Wednesday/Thursday but one (or more) of our owners wasn't quite sure so wanted to interview other options as well. No idea who the other options are, but it was rumoured that one of the other managers was Oscar Garcia. That's the problem with having multiple people in charge of the club, take's a lot of negotiating to get an agreement on something. Makes it more surprising that we hired Clarke in 24 hours.

Local reporters still feel confident it's McDermott, just the owners not wanting to rush into it. Betting is still suspended pretty much everywhere too. Even Sky after reporting that McDermott was only one of three interviewees still haven't re-opened their betting.

Got Martin Kuhl in charge for the foreseeable.

A concept our board don't quite seem to grasp.

BBC reporting that McDermott should be announced Monday.

Apparently the delay was agreeing terms with Arsenal, where Brian is currently Chief Scout. Would be a condition where we'd not be able to sign any of the players that he has been scouting whilst there. Doubt Reading are shopping in the same markets as Arsenal though.

Neil Lennon must only be in a job because Bolton can't afford to pay him off.

Regardless of their financial troubles, Bolton have enough about them to at least attempt at staying up. Fucking shite manager.

When their team was announced on Twitter yesterday, one guy criticised it and got absolutely slaughtered. One of the responses was "I think that's the least of our problems you stupid prick"

I mean, yeah you might be fucked but you can at least still give a shit about the incompetence of the manager. It can't possibly be 100% because of the off-field stuff that a mid-table squad (on paper) is doing so so badly.

Yeah, be like us, spread the venom.

We hate the board and the 'interim' manager.
