My views on this for what they are worth are that on the opening day of the season ALL clubs knew this was going to be a season like no other.
I said at the time that the tinpot trophy should have been scrapped for this year.
The facts are we as a league have got away with very few games being postponed .
Teams like Cambridge employed groundstaff that have gone out of the way to get games on hence they are top and have played the most games. Mansfield,Exeter and Carlisle have for one reason or another played less games but cannot now complain that they have a congested run in.

We have award winning groundstaff too, but there's not much they can do with a frozen pitch besides wait for it to thaw out. We do have the additional problem with getting games on that away teams making their longest journey of the season want decisions to be made early, to prevent them having to travel. At least one postponement of a game at Brunton Park could probably have gone ahead if the decision had been made later. Not knocking the effort Cambridge's groundstaff put in to get their game the other week on when everyone else's was postponed, but they were hosting Southend which probably helped as I doubt Southend were like 'no we want a decision to be made before we make the short hop up the motorway' , we were hosting Crawley. Even if we could have somehow got the game on I don't think Crawley would have been happy with a late pitch inspection.

In any case it's been pointed out several times whenever people have suggested that we are to blame for our own fixture problems that we had 10 postponements and only three of those had anything to do with our pitch. Leyton Orient twice and Crawley once. The other seven postponements were caused by Covid outbreaks at both Carlisle and Cheltenham (4), a waterlogged pitch at Newport, a frozen pitch at Harrogate and then a power failure at Harrogate.

We haven't complained about it but we're thankful that Southend, Morecambe and Scunthorpe have been willing to move fixtures around to help ease the congestion.

Oh when you said we, I assumed you were including yourself and the Carlisle fans on here. Not Chris Beech.

I hadn't complained either, they just have to get on with it and earn their footballers wage.

In this weeks programme, our President says 'it does seem ever more likely that the season will be extended to accommodate these extra matches' without elaborating.
I thought this was a rather strange remark, given that it's now a few weeks since we have had any Covid pps and the weather seems to have improved that waterlogged pitches are less likely.

We have actually. We lost 2-0 to Brazil at the Estádio das Laranjeiras. As any fool would know, it was the first ever game for the Brazil national team...

Thats because you are a HUGE club. Biggest club going. None bigger. So big Horwich RMI had to move to Leigh because they couldn't compete when you moved into their town.
