Yeah - we were delighted to give up our chance of getting automatic promotion (a strong one at the time as well).

Bloody hell mate - move on, get over it. The World is still turning you know and tomorrow is definitely another day.

Firstly I`m not your mate and secondly not a chance. We had the same chance of staying up as you claim you had of being promoted but didn`t get a chance to prove it where it mattered...on the pitch. I You would understand if your club had been treated like shite by (P)rick Parry and his cronies like we have been.

That was to protect the playing budget. How many people lost their jobs when you nearly went bust due to vast over spending AGAIN ??? And how exactly do you know we are paying the best salaries in the league. I bet they are nowhere near what Salford are paying or what you are for that matter. You just stick to living in your own little fantasty world and left the real one to those of us who support probably run football clubs and not basketcases like you lot.

Different owners mate, your lot were binning off working class people to pay Spearing and Vaughan a month what those regular folk earn in a year.

I would hazard a guess that you have the two highest paid players in the league on your books, meanwhile we're in a heavily monitored embargo.

Jesus - you're more touchy than a catholic priest aren't you.

It's football - it's really not life or death (unless you lose your job by being laid off to pay for the likes of Vaughan and Spearing of course).

that is still blooming poor.........what happened to our away support the last 5-6 years.

when I lived in Carlisle trips to Scunthorpe would be 500 plus usually we’dbe Trying to fill the away end.

you’d be disappointed with 300 at somewhere like Brighton!

is it costs or apathy
Steven Pressley was our manager. He alone was enough to knock about 25% off our attendances.

Whilst Tranmere fans will always free hard done by based on how last season ended, it really is time to move on and use that energy into putting together a promotion push. Constantly looking back and giving the likes of Rick Parry the time of day gets us nowhere.

Equally people who seem to know the full ins and outs of what every clubs is paying their players be it ourselves, Bolton, Salford or any other club in the division! Didn’t realise all clubs were evidently making that public for all to see!

Dunno, I think Grimsby have a fair shot at the FA cup this season. They have Anthony Glennon at LWB don't you know
No we don't. Really don't get you two's problem with this. You're both going to look even more foolish than usual when we're proven right, but by all means keep doing your little joke.

The fixtures are a right nonsense.

Harrogate, Bradford, Bolton and Morecambe all on Tuesday nights while glamourous games like Crawley, Newport, Stevenage and Colchester are Saturdays.

cheers

The EFL have spent thousands on a computer system to randomly select fixtures and it has no sense of locality or supporter interest but it does seem to have a nasty streak. It was better when some old duffer played around with strips of paper on his desk.

Oh of course the fixtures are tampered with, don’t be so naive, you reckon Mansfield vs chesterfield and derby vs Nottingham forest appeared on the same day as each other twice a season for 2/3 seasons in a row purely by fluke?

obviously that can’t happen now, with chesterfield being in the conference and all:lol:

just seems a shame to have fixtures on a Saturday that no-one will want to go to when the ones on Tuesday folk will (assuming away fans are allowed in which could be an issue all season)

Colchester and Cambridge away in our first dozen games are our only slippery games

You'd be right to be wary of the mighty U's. Here are a few examples of how good we can be on the day (and some match results can only be described as very impressive).

Col U Away - 2-1 WIN
Crewe Away - 3-2 WIN
Mansfield Away - 4-0 WIN
Exeter Home - 4-0 WIN
Plymouth Home - 1-0 WIN
Salford Home - 0-4 LOSS
Stevenage Home - 0-4 LOSS

Think you may be overestimating Cambridge somewhat.

Bookmarked for future reference.

Local games are normally midweek so teams/fans can get there. Reverse logic though if you ask me, we’d all like local games on a Saturday to make a day of it.

Christ so many away games where we could be taking a decent four figure away following are on Tuesday nights.

Away to Mansfield first up. Have them and Salford away boxed off within the first 5 games
I’m a little uneasy about having such a tough start to the campaign, with Cheltenham who reached the play-offs also in the opening 5. With a relative rookie manager, would have hoped for a more gentle run of opening games.

Just that if we signed Anthony Glennon on load from Burnley again that he'd be one of, if not the, best left back backs in the division. The kid's class, I don't you'll find a single Town fan that would say anything bad about him at all.

Pontoonlew said he would be comfortably the best left back in the division. We took the mick, as everyone here always does when someone makes a bold claim about how good a player is (remember when Cheltenham came up with Dan Holman?).

Poor Dan - never got over his injury which he picked up in the last psf before we returned to the league, and is now playing part-time for Kettering.

I maintain he would have been a success in the EFL but for that. I know the step-up is big, but he was truly outstanding at the end of the 15/16 season. That sort of class isn't luck.

Might be easy that, no idea what to expect to be honest.

Yeah, I guess you can apply the logic that it could be better to play the favourites early doors. However, after Walsall away we're up against four of the six or seven favourites. Savage start if they all hit the ground running.
