Tough game this is with the recent improvement under a new manager. Will Bradshaw be fit? Unlikely, the gash on his ankle is supposed to be quite a bad one. That means the terrible Cook will lead the line again - immediately we are about half the team. Not sure how many Saddlers will make the trip after a couple of expensive weeks with Christmas coming up.

Anyone going on here?

I'd take another away point and turn our attentions to Vale at home next Sunday on TV.

1-1
312 Saddlers.
Mantom with a late equaliser off the bench.

Nice work when our fans are 20 miles away. Why was there not even some sort of warning a few hours back? Fixture congestion is going to get us big!

Absolute piss take, 15 miles away and I get it on my phone. From what it looks like it wasn't even close to being on, yet they waited until 1 to do it - joke. Lovely drive up and down the M6 in turrential rain though...

A-ha, another Saddler. Welcome along buddy! Real pain in the backside the late postponement today and causing us a real fixture congestion headache! The only positive to take is it gives time for Tom to get back to fitness.

Hi Geo :)

Yes, hopefully Tom is back soon, Tuesday or Sunday would be great

Us playing Cook upfront doesn't fill me with optimism :D

I dont think Cook fills anybody with optimism, lol. I've been thinking about this the last week or so and its an area we are totally threadbare in. Like it or not we have to get behind the lad. At the sloppies he was given a chance and I could see from his body language he was unbelievably nervous when he came on. He doesnt have the pace, touch and most importantly the movement of Tom and he knew it. HOWEVER, he did a great job. He won more headers than tom will win in 2 years and ran his absolute balls into the ground. Terrible first touch for the goal but he really deserved the stroke of luck. Its a funny thing confidence and I just hope it kicks him on.

Very late call off, few still had a decent time in Blackpool but still, could have been called off much earlier.

Well against Chesterfield he was back to his hopeless self. Runs around and does a neat lay off but that's about it, might as well stick a ghost up front. Puts the effort in but he doesn't get into the game or have the quality to do anything when he does.

I know Jonny, but whilst he is wearing a Walsall shirt and we are stuck for other options we just have to get behind him. Bradshaw is going to be in and out of the team through injury and using Cook will be a recurring theme. His confidence is wafer thin and booing/getting on his back will be no good for anybody. I would love a decent back up striker but we just dont have one sadly!!

Oh yes, I agree. I always support him, I just don't rate him whatsoever. Which is weird as this time last year I was defending him on UTS cause I think he has an excellent delivery, his best performances was from wide positions, which makes it even odder that he rates himself as a forward.

Need a win to go back to the top

Hopefully Andy Taylor gets dropped, he's cost us in the last couple of games

Players have openly said Saturday felt like snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in press interviews. We are starting to look tired and haven't been playing well. Will the cup game distract us? Will rumours of moves for our players ensure they aren't up to their best? Getting sick of midweek away games and having to play 3 games in a week. It's also a massive chance for us to go top, put some pressure on Gillingham/Burton..but so was Saturday and shocker, we bottled it in stoppage time.

If we want to stick with the top 2, then we really, 100% have to take 4 points from Fleetwood/Doncaster.

We never consistently do well when we have a chance to really rub an opportunity home, let's hope that changes tonight.

Morris and Milan should start for me, with Rico dropping in as a proper left back and Taylor being left out. I've always thought Taylor to be a classy player that has done well for us, but he has just shown himself to be inconsistent in the last few weeks and looks like he needs a few weeks out.

Hopeful of a 2-1 win, expectant of a 1-1 draw, thoughts of a self-combusting 3-0 defeat in the back of my head.

A much deserved rest can be the only positive.

At least we still have the excuse of having a game in hand over Gillingham/Wigan :D
