In fairness they were twins!

You stole my joke.
OK, not a "Doppelgänger" Post but one of Marcel Schmelzer (actual Captain of Borussia Dortmund). In the summer break he enjoys himself being an Ultra-groupie of German Pop Singer Helene Fischer.
Fierce rivals with the Netherlands? Back in their time, maybe. But nowadays you can't have a rivalry with a country that doesn't even qualify for the Euro when nearly everybody else qualifies
Or do you mean the rivalry between Bayern and ManU at that time?
I remember Jancker specifically as he scored your goal to give you a 1-0 lead against us Dirk, back in 2001. It sticks in my mind for some reason. Can't think why...![]()
Yes I know. It's the same with the bloody Austrians. They've won once, in 1978 at the World Cup and til this date they are always mentioning this match. Once they beat their big Brother in an official match. Doesn't matter that they didn't win anything important afterwards...
Not quite the same Dirk. We comfortably beat you in March. We even give you a two goal start. Germany gets it right for the tournaments, we don't do tournaments![]()
This match was only a bluff. We showed with the 2-0 that we could easily win this if we want to. But because it was only a friendly and we are a friendly host, we let you back in the game and even win it. So you could feel good and even make yourself thinking about doing good at the Euro. But because you are England and tournaments (except one) aren't your expertise you were out against the mighty Icelanders and right back on your tiny little island to vote for the EU Referendum (yes, even the unskilled workers of the Three Lions were allowed to vote).![]()
Now, now Dirk. I am only winding you up.
I wasn't quite correct, the Three Lions weren't out of the Euro right in time for the EU Referendum. It was a few days later, so the UK voted out and the Three Lions followed the will of the UK citizensYou are quite correct though we are useless in tournaments.
All the same it is always nice to beat you in Germany.
All the best for New Year btw. Just noticed you're a Hamburger SV fan. Our Rouwen Hennings started off with your club. On loan at Dusseldorf this season.
I still think that his transfer to Burnley was a mistake
