Good luck to Macclesfield. One of my first memories of football was seeing you get promoted in 98. Also remember seeing Steve Hitchen hitting a screamer at Glanford Park. Always enjoyed Moss Rose.

Delusional isn't the word. Anyone who thinks Bury FC will be accepted into the NL North is categorically insane.

I'm amazed by the number of Bury fans falling for this grift. Just get behind the new club.
I am fully behind AFC, member from day 1 and bloody loving the non-league environment, could not agree more re the delusional comment but our fans are grieving over the death of FC. Some of us have moved on some not accepted it yet.

I was there too Keith. Did you enjoy it?
Rather wet on the Friday camping at Ennerdale, being rather drunk and in the superb company of my daughter had a ball. Game very competitive, reff a knob extra time equaliser ace.
Had a ball.

Those fans should be ashamed, spoilt what should have been a great day for the club. Unfortunately it's a big learning point for all involved - local derbies even at this level attract hangers on and you end up with ugly scenes like these.

That's what happens when a load of Vale fans decide to turn up, set off flares and then throw cans at the Macc lads.

Is that what happened? Must admit when I saw the video I did fear some Vale fans who'd gone along for Pope might have been close to it if not involved.

As far as we know yeah, but B2TF has a point in that of course our lads won't be blameless either.

"Apparently" Vale lads chucked a few cans over at the macc fans (there was no segregation in place so all were able to mix on the open terrace) and one got hit, which was then followed up with a big punch up. Lasted a good 10/15 mins. Savage was up in the stand trying to calm it down

I can change font and colour, but no little faces have turned up.

i can do this too, whatever it is!
Click the 3 dots in the middle at the top.
Then it brings up a face and click on it.
Then it brings them all up for you to pick one.

Yo.. Its been a while since i posted. Been a rough year for us all.

Just wanted to give an update about our journey back.. For whoever cares!

Macc FC are in the NWCFL premier division, started with 2 wins and a draw. Also a win in the FA Cup extra prelim round.

Things looking good and attendances have been high, sold 1100 season tickets and league games averaging over 2000 currently, with 1800 tickets sold already for tonight's game at home to Prestwich Heys.

The ground looks alot smarter these days, chairman has spent around 3.5m on the startup costs to build a sustainable club, all working well so far. Academy set up, 4g pitch, brand new gym and cracking sports bar. Seats finally taken out of the star lane end, which im sure youd agree looked crap with the seats at the bottom.

Squad needs tinkering with, as its brand new and we arent going crazy with the budget, but naturally having such larger attendances than the rest our budget is higher.

Anyway, all the best to all for the season. Hopefully we'll see you again in 6 years or so!
I envy you. Our fan-owned set-up is gradually crushing us. Can see us playing each other in 3 years time. Use the money you're making now wisely. Best of luck.

All the very best to you guys, Keep sustainable and don,t over reach yourselves.
A good manager does not need to spend silly money to produce a competative squad.

But you guys already know this, looking forward to watching you climb the leagues.

Two more signings yesterday, and one departure.

Firstly Keiran Kennedy has left us after just a handful of games, came in with a big fan fare that he was part of the conference winning squad a few years ago but it just hasn't worked out, so he's gone to Stockport Town.

Brought in a lower level goal scorer in Scott McGowan, but then also added Neil Danns (yes, that Neil Danns) to the squad too. He's 38 now, and feels like the first really strange signing, i fully expect him to be here for a couple of months then gone again. We need a bit of experience in the midfield, but not sure he's right.

Danns is a model professional and will add great experience in and out of the team. He should still have the legs for that level even at 38.

Stockport Town? whats Kennedy doing?
No idea but describing his few performances for us as “shaky” would be being kind to him. Rumours of nursing a long term injury and then stupidly got himself sent off for a reckless challenge in FA cup was the end of him.

Was a really sound replacement for Pilkington for us too. Ah well, it’s a weekly transfer merry go round at this level, probably be back here before the seasons out!

Enjoyed the documentary and very well done Smethurst but ultimately Savage will be a liability. Idiot to allow himself to be filmed verbally abusing what looked liked very young players at half-time while the manager who must have no self-respect let him get on with it. And they were leading but it then ended level!

I can picture fathers wanting a quiet word with him..

That team talk was the first team, alot aren't at the club anymore because they either couldn't handle it or weren't good enough. Watching him shout like that wasnt to my liking, but i suspect most dressing rooms are like that.

The documentary as a whole was decent, yes it was alot about sav, but he is part owner and DoF. Lets be honest, without him theres no documentary.

He has alot of passion and his work ethic is amazing, he is 100% dedicated to the club.

I'd rather have a commited bloke like sav, than someone who is likeable but a drip.

We are in good hands, the business model is working and we are making money.

Football wise, the team is looking more settled now the recruitment is mostly done, 5 points clear at the top with crowds of 3,500. All is looking good for little old Macclesfield.

Thing is it wasn't a team talk, it was an employer verbally abusing his staff, some of them only kids, while the manager looked on. Not a good look in 2021. But good luck regardless, you might well enjoy the next few years more than struggling in the EFL.

Most team talks probably look similar to that.

I've had Sunday League team talks x10 worse than that and I've paid for the privelage.

Not a good look in woke 2021, people getting offended on other people’s behalf again. You ever been to match before, far worse is said to refs on the pitch.

Guessing you've never been in a changing room after playing shite for 45mins and the blokes in charge of you having every right to tell you to sort your shit out?

If any of them can't handle a bollocking when it's deserved then they will quickly be fucked off to a club who aren't bothered about winning.
