My point is even if it's commonplace, it's not a good idea to get yourself on national TV behaving like that.

The other thing was how easily intimidated the manager seemed to be.

If any of them can't handle a bollocking when it's deserved then they will quickly be fucked off to a club who aren't bothered about winning.
You gonna send them to Dover?

Danny Whitaker has been associated at the club for the best part of 20 years, I doubt he’s intimidated by his DoF.

Savage getting involved like that was embarrassing, clearly his heart is in the right place but he’s always been a bit of a gobshite, like him or loathe him (i’ve never quite decided which to plump for).

If we’d had a bad game and the DOF came in like that he’d get told to get fucked, which i imagine would be the commonplace response.

It was nice to see for macc, always been a decent club, sadly no rival MTFC anymore!

I agree about Danny Whitaker. Based on the limited amount that I saw it didn't seem that he had that much confidence. Probably still finding his feet but he needs to assert his boundaries with Savage. I also couldn't believe how little match preparation there was. I don't what I was expecting at that level but there really didn't seem to be anything other than or one two fluffy sentences.

I'm half-surprised when Savage went up to sort the trouble that someone didn't take the opportunity to hit him. I thought at least one of those idiots involved in the scuffle would have fancied that claim to fame.

If you've got the money, build a 4g pitch like this bloke's done. You'll make a killing. It's almost impossible to get one at prime time around here and they are charging what they like.

I enjoyed the documentary - certainly worth an hour if you've got one spare!

I agree about the 4g pitch, they should be more commonplace in the lower leagues, that you can have them in the conference but have to tear them up if you get promoted to the FL is a farce

Not a farce at all.

4g pitches don't belong in professional football. A complete advantage to the home team. EFL rightly don't allow it.

Savage definitely isn't your average director of football and he does overstep the mark at times. He can't help getting involved in absolutely everything even if it's not his job. But for all his faults he puts an awful lot of work into the recruitment, scouting & publicity side of things and he's definitely a benefit to the club overall.

Both Robbie and the documentary have had overwhelming support from the fanbase which is great to see.

Yeah you’re right they should be implemented across the board in the lower leagues - its common sense .

The cost effectiveness of them would be massively beneficial for clubs especially the further down the leagues you go.

It is a farce considering they’re used at international level, can’t remember who we were playing but one of England’s qualifiers was on 4G

It was one of the baltic countries, lithuania springs to mind.

Similar leagues in europe play on them, sadly still out of date dinosaurs making the rules.

Even the World Cup can have 4G pitches. I'm not sure where the half and half grass/synthetic pitches are classed by the EFL, because those as well keep for so much longer than a fully grass pitch.

There's also the point that a lot of clubs, especially at the very top level, train on 4G pitches rather than grass. I'm all for them from a football style viewpoint, even the clubs at step 5 and 6 with them play on the floor passing football rather than hoofing it as the 4G pitch allows them to actually have the ball rolling along the "turf" come January rather than the mud fields of old where any pass further than 2 yards becomes a liability as the months wear on.

4G pitches play nothing like a grass pitch, it’s a massive advantage at elite professional level. Right now I can tolerate it but impossible to say where I’d stand should it come to point of maybe needing to rip it up again.

People bang on about how 4G pitches are an advantage to the home team but the real issue is that everyone hates the fact that those little black pellets get everywhere. I even found some in my cornflakes one morning.

Look, GO AWAY and come back when you've at least got into National League North. Do we hear from Darlington? Hereford? Chester? Or even York? Kidderminster? NO, we don't.

It's a few years ago, but I read that you can get the pellets lodged in your nasal cavities and ears and not all insurance policies cover removal. 4G makes perfect sense that far down the pyramid and of course it's a great statement of intent by the new owner.

The half and half pitches are fine because the synthetic part is only for binding the roots and making the grass more durable.

Watched the documentary today and Savage was trying to be like Neil Warnock in that famous dressing room clip. Definitely all for the cameras that, as was him going over to the fans where there was trouble in the stand.

His heart is in the right place though.

Are you sure they were 4G pitch pellets?

Do you maybe have a pet rabbit?

Just one off for now, but sounds like potential for another covering the last 5 or 6 games of the season.

Over a thousand tickets sold for tomorrow's big Cheshire Senior Cup game... would probably be a lot more if it weren't 1) a tenner (for the CSC!) and 2) was pay-on-the-gate. As it is, you have to buy a ticket online, which is just a QR code that you can't print yourself or show on your phone, you have to pick up a printed piece of paper from their ticket office. Basic understanding of e-ticketing practise still hasn't trickled its way down the A6, it seems.

Maybe the documentary wankers want a shot of Savage shouting at beleaguered ticket office staff, or something

Very prestigious competition. Worried our league form might interfere with our cup run
