Be nice to see Coman come in for Giroud and Griezmann to go central a bit later. Reckon it makes more sense to put the striker who scores a pantload ahead of the one that runs major hot n cold. Coman would scare the fuck out of them as well.

Was always gonna be Giroud as he's wasted about 3 good chances.

Deschamps using Griezmann in a similar way to Hodgson with Vardy. Fucking plums.

If this ends in a draw France cannot really complain - they've only got going in patches and Romania looked pretty solid with some threat in attack.

Expect a big push from the French though now.

Pick that one out!

Top quality from probably the best player on the pitch!

Payet was the best player on the pitch by a long distance, so comfortable on the ball, but that was goal was utterly brilliant.

As predicted, Romania were solid throughout and made France work for their win. Enjoyable opener.

France fortunate to win that. Payet and Kante excellent but thats it. Bit stop start and the the officiating was fucking awful so I hope that improves.

What a strike from Payet to win the game. Keeper fucked it up for the first goal, then Evra lost his head. Romania came at them in the second-half: fair play to them for that, definitely in with a chance of reaching the knock-out stages.

Disagree with that, Kante was superb as well, easily as good as Payet.

Martial was the best player on the pitch.

France reminded me of England - decent going forward but bang average at the back.

If the pundits think they have a chance to win it, then so do we.

Payet was fantastic tonight, what a special goal to win it.

Bilic is so intense, that haircut and messing about with his pen while he's talking, Lee Dixon looks more on edge than when he used to sit next to Roy Keane.

Which of Kante, Pogba, Payet and Matuidi wouldn't get into our midfield, though?

Opinions obviously differ, I thought Payet ran the show - set up the 1st goal and won the game with that strike right at the end. If they didn't have Payet, I don't think they would've won that. Kante worked tirelessly but didn't think his performance was overly special.

Think it's a very English thing to say that Kante's performance was on a par with Payet's.
