Just seen that Frank Burt, a life-long Aldershot Town supporter, died at the age of 102 yesterday.

Very sad news. All football clubs need loyal and dedicated fans like Frank, especially at this level. There's a great tribute to him on Aldershot's website - I've put the link below.

RIP Frank.

I never met Frank, but whenever he was mentioned in conversations I never heard a bad word against him - gutted to hear he passed away on Friday as he is a true Shots legend.

Thanks Sparrow, was going to post something but wasn't sure if it was appropriate.

Frank was one of the nicest, most self-effacing men you could hope to meet. One of the pleasures of working home games was I often got to chat to him, his interest and knowledge of football, especially AFC/ATFC, was colossal. He could remember stuff from games 80 years ago that I would forget 8 weeks previous.

As the tribute says, Aldershot Town has lost it's Grandfather, and he will be impossible to replace. I would hope there is plans in place for a tribute at the Tranmere game this coming Saturday, if anyone deserved it, Frank did.
