We lurch kicking and screaming towards another weekend.

key games for:

Oxford (to keep a playoff spot)
Barnsley (" ")
Posh - they've all but secured their playoff spot but will want to keep momentum
Bolton and Vale - one for promotion and one for survival
Burton
Derby (to seal an auto spot)
Chelts and Lincoln - former for survival, latter for playoffs

And the biggest game of the day is of course the mid-table battle royal that is Cobblers v Exeter. Possibly.

Our players have been on the piss since the final whistle went on Tuesday. They'll be some sorry states turning up for training this morning. Put your mortgage on Wigan.

Basically hoping Lincoln are feeling the pressure a bit and we can nick something. I'm certainly not holding my breath though.

Reading at home. Our final home game. What a fixture to take my daughter to given it will be toxic if we lose.
The good thing about all this is it has actually woken up our fanbase and everyone is pissed off with the manager, the players and the owner. You can feel something is going to kick off. I hope this translates into a better atmosphere and stimulates a response.
But it won’t. 5 at the back. Hugill on his own upfront. Long balls over the top of him. Deji defending corners and losing every one. This absolute fraud of a manager will be out of a job a week Sunday as he has to go. He won’t be in football again. He has been exposed. Ben knows it. He must have heard the chants on Tuesday.
We were asked to get behind the team and support them. We did. But they produced the worst half of football I’ve seen in a decade. Even when we lost 9-0 to Man City we had a fucking go. This muppet ( who blamed the fans Saturday) is so inept it’s scary. How did he get the job ?? Same shit every week. “Great week of training, lads have belief bla bla”
Then we lose again. 8 in a row at home.

Fuck him off back down the a50. Is he a closet vale fan trying to relegate us? Seems it.
I predict a 2-0 defeat.
Told my daughter to bring her phone and she can play Roblox instead as it will be fucking awful.
If he somehow stays for next season I will
Not attend until he is gone. Many more have said the same. I never thought I would say this but we would have been better with Dino or Hasselbank. We would have got 2 wins from somewhere.
Horrible time - and not used to it. 1 relegation in about 40 years as a club, it’s all new for us.

Not a chance, he was diabolical for us in our last relegation! One of the worst strikers we've had considering his previous levels before... if anything he got stick then as he was obviously Stoke for a while!

Bolton Away for us, hopefully one of Burton or Cheltenham get the win to seal our fate so we can crack on with our summers and can spend some time with the wife and kids with zero worries every weekend for a few months!

Its like Marie Antoinette awaiting the executioner and its tedious now.

We may as well go all out for the win here, its pointless parking the bus like we did against Peterborough as we have a defensive lapse in us which would see us conceded then game over anyway and a draw doesn't likely do a great deal, so rather go out in a blaze of glory and lose 3-0 having a go rather than 3-0 without a shot on target.

Bar the 6-3 we have a dreadful record against Bolton, even when we play well we lose, Trafford had a mental game to beat us last season there despite countless chances and just seems a game we never do well in.

Their autos are realistically over so maybe rest a couple but even their kids would probably beat us at the moment let alone their reserves.

2 or 3-0. We will park the bus, concede late first half from a corner and game and season over.

That bloke is as Stoke as you can get.
I tiled his mums kitchen ( council house in tunstall) about 10/15years ago, she was quite pleasant, til I said I was vale , she went proper dirty guts with me..
He turned up in the afternoon, think he may have been at Burnley (?) at the time.
Was proper a dick to me, called me a vale prick, honestly was a proper idiot.
I couldn’t believe it when he played for us, although his ‘performances’ told us all how much he was trying.

Congratulations to Fleetwood U17 academy team who won the Premier Development League Cup beating Watford 3-2. A magnificent achievement....shame about the 1st team.

Quite scary that side got 9 more points than this! the Foreign experiment that didn't work, but as bad as Smurf was at least he tried to change it signing Eagles, Bikey etc as free agents and it nearly paid off...

Anthony De Freitas missing a sitter at Fleetwood in injury time which would have saved us (think it hit the post?).

Odd to think Cicilia went on to get a hatrick in the Champions League and Kiko did well in the Europa! Big Reg was like a skinny Uche.

Some similar patterns though, started really well, top few going into November, dire winter period and had a little perk at the end but too little too late.

Let’s hope then when we sack him he does not come crawling on his arse up the a50 begging for a job.

Send him to Hanley town.
Infact even better - send him to b&m bargains on the tills.

Exeter at home. Hope Exeter fans get in their seats early so they can see the mid table trophy being paraded on the pitch prior to kick off.

Looks like a good crowd expected and hopefully a decent game to finish the season at home. It’s been a good one. 6-0 Cobblers.

ouch, that is harsh.

Hope there's a decent police presence for this one, I can see there being some aggro in the stands if Cobblers decide to rub salt in to the wounds of their mid-table supremacy.

If it’s of any comfort, I took my six year old daughter to her first game last season on the last game v Forest Green when there was a strong chance we’d be relegated. We haven’t been relegated for 19 years now so not something we’re used to either so it was very brave. But it all turned out well in the end!

Another draw inbound. 13 unbeaten, our record in the league is 15. We have Shrewsbury and Wycombe left. Also very likely to finish 16th at best.

Would make it our worst finish in English football since 1926, all whilst potentially equalling our best ever unbeaten run. What a club

You won’t. It will be 1-0 or something like that. They need it more then you do Especially if derby are winning well then yih Will make changes and rest for the play offs.
To be fair Barnsley on the opening day aside (7-0) we don't often get hammered, lost 3-0 to Derby and Posh but usually its a closer affair, we just seem to have a real defensive lapse or two every game and 9 times out of 10 concede.

Imagine it will more likely be 2-0 Bolton we will be solid in parts but fall asleep after a decent effort to concede a sloppy goal, huff and puff for a bit before conceding a second mid 2nd half to end the tie.

Seems pretty much how we go! Players are all coming out saying they will give it all, its not over yet etc but words are pretty pointless when they rarely follow it up with any action.

Ben Garrity is the only one who you can see is really hurting.

Nah. We haven't got that gutsy performance in us like most teams around the bottom have at this time of the season. A bunch of nice lads without an ounce of fight in them.

I'm rooting for Stevange tonight. We will beat Barnsley. They are there for the taking. 1-0 since we can't score more.

Dreadful decision to not give the penalty. Then Stevenage score a spawny OG. Love it!
