So Cadden, Adams and Diallo join Godwin-Malife and Whitehouse on the sidelines.

2 16 y/o academy lads plus another inexperienced youngster on the bench for us, shows how thin our squad is atm.

Cadden is a big loss, we don’t have a like for like replacement. Allen is likely to play there apparently, not sure what his best position is but from what I’ve seen I wouldn’t say it’s left wing back.

Well Radio Stoke are reporting that Worrall has been injured in the warm-up so will be either Gibbons or Cass coming in for him. For fucks sake we really can’t be affording to lose Worrall if that is true.

Edit - ignore seems more bollocks from our local radio station.

Poor fifteen minutes between us and Orient. Ball spent most of the time in the air. Plenty of bodies around Vernam and Cook. They've got us sussed out.

Twenty three minutes in and we've got out first free kick. Nice one. Twat.

We've settled down a bit but still full of errors. Nick a goal back before half time and we might rescue something but presume vale are coasting a bit as it stands and can step up again if they need to.

Aye still all to play for. Under DC we have had a habit of decent game management when we’ve had a lead. At least in comparison to the old naive Vale under Askey where even 6-1 up at Bolton last season never felt totally secure.

Our commentators are complimenting how quick you all get back whenever we get up there.

This is quite possibly the worst tactical decision I’ve seen from us in about 3 years.

Whilst we’ve looked toothless recently, we’ve looked decent defensively. Today’s formation change has made us look all over the place at the back, a disjointed mess where no one seems to know what their role is, but at the same time making us even less of a threat in attack. Pathetic that beech hasn’t recognised this and changed it yet.

At some point in this game you will get a chance through Covolan having a moment of craziness. I’m becoming a fan of our psycho keeper but at some point he is going to try and dribble the ball in his own box or something. Northampton’s manager openly said they were targeting him on that.

Vale still the more likely to score though, we can't string two passes together and Vale are pressing well. Allen sounds like he's not got up to speed coming in for cadden and bernard is having a poor game by his standards.

Poorest half of football that I've seen from us so far. No real chances. Aimless hoofing. Dreadful set pieces. Needs to improve second half because Orient will win this.

Swindon didn’t manage to string a few passes together in the first twenty, more even after that although best chance of the half was a shot from Ollie Clarke, certain goal until a brilliant block from the Swindon defender.

I dunno if it’s bad luck or poor positioning or likely a combination of both but we just seem to not be making the most out of our crosses so far, but overall Stags the better side in the first half, so fully expect Swindon to take the lead in the second.

Couldn’t really ask for more than that first half. I just hope we don’t start getting satisfied and try to see it out rather than add to it. FGR are more than capable of a 2 or 3 goal burst quickly.

very impressive organisation from Vale. a goal for FGR could change things massively however.

Tranmere looked a much better team than us but only we have created chances, deserve to be ahead really.

Penalty we got looked quite harsh but considering the penalties we conceded last season we deserve it

Half time playing much better today Stevenage are more interested in trying to con the ref on the floor every 2 minutes

Diabolical half from us. One piece of quality from Clough has let us off the hook.

Beech must change back to our normal defensive formation otherwise we’re going to continue being torn to shreds.

If he doesn’t recognise the need for a tactical change serious questions will rightly be asked when Hartlepool run over us to take the points. This match is only going one way as it is.

Really looking forward to the game - reckon it will be a right good 90 mins. No idea how it’ll go. Surely Mansfield haven’t got another Maynard that’ll miss 4 sitters like he did a few seasons ago!

I’ve had a nibble on us at 21/10 - we should never be that sort of price even if we end up not winning.

Mansfield be warned - we seem to be expert shithousers this season!
How wrong was I. We’ve been absolutely dreadful. Mansfield a bit better and had a couple of half chances but it’s awful watching.

Surely the 2nd half can’t be worse than this.

Mansfield definitely have our number at the moment, they are better all over the pitch. We should be 1 down but for a brilliant block by Louis Reed.

We need to change things at half time or the points are going up the road to whatever county Mansfield is in.

Feeney off Toure or Mampala on? I've no idea how the game is going beyond the score and comments on here as I spent the first half in the much more hoity toity surroundings of an art gallery in York.

I think Beech is maybe too attached to Feeney, who was supposed to be a coup for us last season before his debut was delayed by a long term injury to accept that his other two centre backs have formed an effective partnership leaving no room for Feeney in the starting line up. Not that I think Feeney is bad. It's just the way it is sometimes when a player is injured for a while.

Well Mansfield haven’t been great, but nowhere close to ‘absolutely dreadful’ so I think in retrospect if Swindon have indeed been that poor saying Mansfield were a ‘bit better’ is stupid.

Pretty clearly Swindon need to change it up because our press is making them make mistakes too easily, Mansfield need to make more of the ball within the final third, not very confident tbh.

Well, I said we’ve been absolutely dreadful and you’ve been a bit better. Pretty accurate, no?
