Connor Malley left about 3 months ago shoddy.
Good job we won so I could come back and keep you right.
Morgan Feeney I meant, yeah I wouldn't be including Malley in any list of our better reserves, even when he did play for us. Same colour hair, signed from the same club, name ends in the same two letters, celtic first names both, you can see where the confusion arises.

I’m not actually convinced Zanzala got our second today, I’ll have to see the replay more closely.

But yes agree he looked like a proper number 9, getting into dangerous areas in and around the 6 yard box. Hopefully he goes on a scoring run now.

Nah, we haven't won against a top 7 side since we beat Salford back in November, and there's no way we'll make the play offs if we can't beat our top 7 rivals. And I'm sure Col U are staying up one way or the other.
I think we’ll finish in the play offs. We’ve got less games to play now which means we’ll be fresher than everyone else around us and Wes will be playing nearly every week (even if he isn’t directly involved in goals we seem to play better with him).

I think Cheltenham and Forest Green are out of reach and Tranmere are too strong to blow three games in hand on us but I don’t see many others overtaking us despite the run we have coming up.

You can't see at all on the replay I don't think. But he was the one with his foot around the right area and the one who ran off celebrating. Could well have been an OG but if the referee wrote it down as a Zanzala goal, I doubt the dubious goals panel have enough evidence to justify taking it off him.

Colchester have been so poor that this has 1-0 to Colchester written all over it, with probably Harry Pell-end getting the winner.

Far, far too early to offer those opinions.
The table is so tight and no team is showing outstanding form.
Obviously Bolton are the form team but reading reports on today's game they admit being lucky in their win.
Big games for all teams chasing promotion, no matter who the opposition be.

Two of Tranmere's games in hand are against us and Grimsby I think.

Strange game today. We were dreadful but still had enough chances to get a draw. Can't complain at the result as Carlisle were much the better side overall and looked like they wanted it more.

First half killed us because we started the game looking to edge a 0-1 rather than starting on the front foot. Attacking wise we're nowhere near good enough which is why we won't be making the top 7.

Fairly lucky today and against Mansfield but 9 wins and 2 draws from 11 games and only 5 conceded in those 11 games. We were always gonna have a drop off. Heavy pitch today and we looked a bit more tired than usual, couldn't impose our style. Vale were better than I thought they'd be. A good front man and they could have won it - guessing that has been the story of their season.

I looked back at some of the earlier season stats when we weren't winning and on the stats we don't look too bad. A lot of games were even or we were the better team (more shots, possession, corners etc) but conceding sloppy goals and missing easy chances. We haven't been completely outplayed very many times this season but recently our defence has improved massively. Goals win games, defences win titles (or hopefully promotion in this case).

Some huge games coming up. Should be a good game at your place. Massive for both teams. Glad we don't have any midweek games for a few weeks. Get some R&R in

I should say with Bolton having labelled that lad Santos someone who won a competition be a footballer for the day after our first game the difference was marked today. As mentioned earlier your wide players delivery didn’t impress whether that was conditions I don’t know.

We just can’t seem to find a happy medium this season. We’ve gone through stages where we’ve scored loads but leaked goals and now we’ve tightened up but can’t score. I don’t envy DC trying to find the solution to this.

I do hope at some point the club look at the pitch and do something about it. Contact injuries you have to allow for but we just get so many muscle injuries this has to play a part in it.

Clarke has done superbly in terms of sorting the defence out, it’s been a million miles from the one against Barrow, Tranmere, Mansfield but it has cost us going forward. Not sure the answer until Popey comes back.

Pitch is what it is this season, it hasn’t been bad in recent seasons but the weather and games condensed have left it a right mess.

Yeah the pitch has done Sarcevic for us too. The difference between Santos now and the one at the start of the season is chalk and cheese. He's a monster now. He's usually much better on the ball too. I think Santos could play upto championship level at least (hopefully with us). All our players struggled with final ball today. Too many aimless long passes that drifted out of play. I think it was weather/pitch because it's usually a lot better than that. Afolayan has been so good but his crossing especially was absymal today. Desperately want to keep him in the summer when his contract expires.

BTW out commentary was out of sync on Ifollow so I listened to Vales. They were obsessed with Santos. Would not stop going on about how big he is?! lol If I'd had to drink a shot every time they said santos is huge i'd have been steaming drunk by half time!

Aye Bowers is like that. It’s usually either WWE references (I think he name dropped Hulk Hogan at one point come to think of it) or going on about his half time cup of tea. Not so bad when it’s streamed but if it was just radio it would drive me up the wall.

Chris Birchall on the other hand just seemed really negative from the start. Was the same against Cambridge where it almost felt he wanted the team to slip up to vindicate him.

Awful game at Blundell Park as expected between 2 awful sides, we never looked like scoring second half in a game we really needed to win.

Completely doomed.

Has everyone's pitch been struggling. We haven't all furloughed our groundstaff but it's not been the best of winters. Ours today was looking as bad as I've seen it, I think since I started going to games.

We have one of the best pitches in the league and even ours has been awful due to Covid and the weather.

Ours was ok up until the New Year then the snow and rain just saw it churn to pieces.

That said it’s no worse than most, Mansfield was terrible, Bradfords was poor and just don’t think been helped by the covid situation.

Evatt had a right go at one of our commentators for negativity a few weeks ago. Hasn't been on the radio since. Seems to be a common occurrence.

Worse than when they found fish in the penalty area after the floods?.... That's saying something.

Haha god I remember how bad that rain was for days!
