They’ve deserved it to be fair. I did say after not losing for 18 games and Grimsby bottom that it would be typical us to lose this. Morecambe game away is massive now for both teams. Will probably decide third place

I do think we have looked tired today too. Haven’t pressed like normally would. A really tough midweek game took it out of us. Grimsby superb though

Another shameful performance from us.

Can't see us picking up another point this season, the players don't give a shit

Fucking get in. Probably not deserved but I couldn’t give a shit. That was such a stressful 90 minutes, I’m now going to get rat arsed.

Playoffs our only hope now. Those subs baffled me. Just got to try and get a couple of wins from the final 4 to generate some momentum to firstly get in the playoffs and secondly go into the playoffs with some sort of confidence.

Played well today - let down by a goalkeeping howler unfortunately.

Dire performance. Pathetic clueless display.

It’s not even the fact we didn’t win, it was the fact we didn’t have a clue what to do to win the game. Really poor.

Hard fought game but overall you’d say that 0-0 is a fair result.

From a Vale perspective am pleased with the resilience defensively. Something we certainly were not four months ago. Not so good going forward but had our moments.

0-0, decent result, shame we couldn’t get that record but 7 unbeaten now.

Sounds like we defended well again, improvement since DC there is phenomenal. Sounds like we did the shithousing well again which is good!

When we have posed an attacking threat to be fair Port Vale have defended well, it hasn't just been us being toothless.

Both teams making changes just for one big last corner to Carlisle, but nothing comes of it.

Just gotta beg Southend and Grimsby don't go on mental runs now

We had a great last five minutes, should have scored. But then Southend missed plenty too. A draw a fair result, neither side should be happy with that.

That was a tetchy last 20 minutes and how the 2nd and 3rd goals went in after the earlier chances was ridiculous. Not sure why Bolton took off Doyle because he was always the threat of a goal, can see why they’re in the autos tho, good passing side.

That is a massive result. It JUST keeps our hopes alive, or prolongs the inevitable. Another 2 hard games coming up against Morecambe and Exeter.

Even if Southend win three of their last four games you'd probably stay above them on goal difference, you're safe.

They were gobbling up every cross we put in. Their centre backs won everything in the air. We were toothless in the sense that we kept trying and failing at the same thing and not trying a different approach. Maybe we don’t have the players to come up with something different which is something that needs addressed in the summer.

Please play like that against Morecambe! Tbf we had our fair share of chances too. But just not good enough today. We had a free hit because of the gap we opened up but pressure back on now. We struggle against the big physical teams that press us and play into target men. Carlisle did that brilliantly when we played them earlier in season. We probably need 3 wins from last 4 now. With Morecambe being a huge game

We've really got to score the good chances we get. Since Newport bet we have missed 5/6 free shots in the 6 yard box.

Grimsby deserved the win overall. If we carry on finishing like we are there is no chance of autos.

i think our players thought it was a 3pm kick off and have just done a (not very rigorous) warm up for 90 mins...

Reckon you'll stay there, only Morecambe of the rest of us seem to be trying to catch you with any seriousness.

Thought we was rewarded for our patience against Barrow who's back 5 were difficult to break down, based on the second half we deserved the win as we took our chances when they came our way. Second half Barrow rarely troubled us apart from a few half chances I thought.

But the key point of the game was when Banks missed a free header from a corner for Barrow, the best chance of the game until that point - Things would've been different had that gone in.

We had to win and we did, hard game on Tuesday against the league leaders. Every game for us is basically must win now.
