Any of the other Pools lads know why we’re kicking off at 12:30?

Sold out the piddling away allocation, didn’t even attempt to get tickets for this, been once and that was enough.

You sold out on Tuesday then?
I’m not sure you got it.

No, we had 6800 which is no doubt what we had against you - if not for the 2000+ in the home ends from Exeter.

Mansfield 1-4 Exeter.

Up to second.

10 points behind FGR with a game in hand.

Back to Exeter by 1am and watching teams around us collapse at 3pm.

Our Twitter account has been going flat out mad constantly reminding us of the two goals we scored the other night - almost as if its been deprived of content for the last 3 months...........

Our owners have badly messed everything up this season, no plan once Jackett was sacked and thought that throwing money at another big name would entice them to take over and it hasn't happened, they badly need Matt Harrold to win a game soon to buy them some time.

Our performance levels haven't really improved too much, we look more like scoring though and should've scored against Carlisle. But the team have showed more fight in the last two games at least for sure.

This is probably the worst Orient team I've seen for a long time that just simply reacts badly to goals in games, on Tuesday we stayed in the game and managed to take the lead. Now, normally you'd have thought this would give a team some confidence to see the game out - Not us. We just crumbled under the pressure and let 2 goals in and never look like seeing it out. I guess at least on Tuesday when we did fall behind, we reacted well enough to get a draw which is something to cling too.

Game of the week down at the bottom between Oldham and Carlisle.

Two teams who have been fighting relegation all season. Recently Oldham have been on good form yet are still in the relegation zone. Carlisle had a spell of good form around Christmas, followed by some terrible form but now have won their last two. Some other teams have been dragged into it and both may end up surviving, but these two along with Scunthorpe (if you can really use the word fight to describe what Scunny are doing) have been consistently in the fight.

Both turned to local heros to rescue them... Should be interesting (for the neutral, very stressful for those involved).

Living in west Cumbria I dont want to see Carlisle go down but tomorrow I will be 100% behind the tic's, sadly sat at my desk at work.
Should be a decent gate, 7500 to 8000 I would guess so should be a good atmosphere.
Good luck in your survival fight Carlisle except tomorrow.

How many do you want to score Casey?
That's easy. One more than you.

Obviously, I'd like to watch a good game with two sides playing well and all that but one more than the opposition is the aim.

Not seen your lot apart from highlights but, with our propensity to fall apart during games, I honestly believe you have a chance, especially if you attack us in the last fifteen minutes.

124 years to the day that representatives from Sutton Association and Sutton Guild Rovers met and decided to merge, the product of that union face Rochdale heading towards the business end of their first ever season in the Football League.

It’ll be a decent enough chance to build on last weekend’s therapeutic win over Scunthorpe and, with many other side in the promotion/playoff hunt playing, a chance to solidify our own promotion/playoff chances following a difficult run of results.

However Rochdale did beat us at Spotland earlier in the season and are more than capable of doubling us. It’s going to be interesting.

Appreciate the crowd will be well below what is standard for most but we’ve pretty much sold out the home ends for tonight’s game, but the problem with only having 3 sides and the away holding 1800 or so is that it’ll still only be 6,800 or so.

It’s amazing for us to be getting better crowds, but if we’re going to be expecting more fans in more regularly we’ve got to quickly up our game in capacity but also ticketing facilities.

Hoping for 3 points tonight, i’m sure if we play as we’ve been doing we can hopefully get it

Yes as well as more home fans you need to think about capacity to capitalise on the bigger clubs in L1 who will sell out, should you get there. The missed revenue could be vital.
There are a lot of teams in this league who don't even half fill our small away sections. We know its not fit for purpose but never seem to be in a position to move away.

I meant to ask this after our game but totally forgot and this post has reminded me. What's the deal with the Bishop Street Stand? Clearly it was closed down due to safety reasons but are their plans for any redevelopment in the pipeline?

The problem being is when the ground was redeveloped the ex chairman did it on the cheap, what really should have happened is they moved the west stand 10-15 metres back so we could do more with it, realistically it’ll only be 5/6 rows back, but could be vital for away fans if we need the home fans behind the goal.

Given we’ve never really needed the capacity it’s been more beneficial to do nothing with it and use it for advertising which actually brings in a lot of money itself. having a stand as a big advertising hoarding is highly tinpot but also commercially savvy - they’d need to be sufficient financial benefits to change it

If we had the bishop street redeveloped tonight wouldn’t be all ticket and you get people deciding on the day and a bigger crowd.

Crowds generally been going up for quite a few years now, and it’s really important we start moving forward with the Bish. It needs to be well thought out so we can use it for home and away fans depending on the demand. Official line from the Club generally been get in to L1 and it will start moving forward but due to the limited space it’s going to be a nightmare to knock it down and build something worthwhile. Think the idea is safe standing.

I was initially thinking you could build a huge main stand but given where the houses are, you are restricted in what you can do there. I assume the home owners are also likely to kick up any stink if anything remotely large is planned to be built?

Fair point about the income from the advertising hoardings. I suppose if and when you get to League 1 your owners may have to start thinking a bit about what to do there.

Looks like we’re selling the overflow away fans section for tomorrow. Main stand and stand behind the goal 99.9% sold out and appears the East stand is too. Could be on for a 7,000 crowd depending on how many Tranmere bring.

Mansfields pitch is TERRIBLE.

Complete pudding pitch, would be better suited for frat house mud wrestling. Worthy of the "Newport Award".

Mansfield look like a very good side. One of the best I've seen this season in terms of passing and structure.

We have probably shaded it so far but it's a great game of football to watch.

Impromptue stoppage of play to applaud the brave Ukrainians. Love to see it.

Ball literally dies if it hits anywhere out of the middle part of the pitch

Why don't they invest the 350k they wanted for Ollie Watkins (lmao) on pitch improvements? It's like playing at a conference divisional side ffs

Mansfield look a good side with some intensity but I still think we can get something from this, especially if we can bring Nombe on for half an hour.
