Wow, decent appointment. Think they could stay up now, hope not though.

He might be able to string a few results together unfortunately for all of us. Think it might be a bit too late though, especially with the games they have left over. They'll be dead and buried if they don't beat York.

It is a good appointment, surprised they've left it so late as he won't have any chance to shape their squad for the run-in.

They'll do well to beat York who will be on a massive high this week, Cambridge at home is a must win for them though. They have Northampton and Bury up next. I think they might end up dropping at this rate.

Hate the bloke. Can take a manager failing but the stuff he came out with just pushed it over the edge. Wonder how Shaun Harrad feels, after GJ throttled him in training for no reason whilst he was here. Good for us, and one positive for Cheltenhams rivals is when they play us the whole ground will be right up for it.

I know you probably don't like us too much at the moment... but I hope you dislike Gary Johnson more. If this is the case then please put them back in their place for all of our sakes.

No bones with you, beat us fair and square. Judging by my Twitter feed, there'll be a bigger crowd than usual willing the team to a crushing victory. Some are preparing banners etc.

We want blood in this one now.

reminds me of our situation when we went down, changed the manager too late which probably was our downfall along with appointing a DoF during the season, who wasn't wanted a couple of months down the line.

Interesting appointment, I always keep my eyes out for Johnson after we let him go yonks ago. Good manager, not sure if it's the right job mind.

Too good for this division but it might be too late on Cheltenham's part.

Good luck Gary.

He was unbelievably shit for us and came across like a massive wanker, but seems to have done alright at other places. He might turn them around... seems a bit late for that though. I hope we absolutely steamroller them when they come here, anyway.

Johnson by far was one of the worst managerial appointments we ever made.

His first season record was 2 Wins, 6 draws, 5 losses - less than one point per game - and it took him until game 12 to get first win aided by Stevenage pressing the destruct button!

Then again we think that Brendon Moloney is the best right back we have had in a long time, and Yeovil fans would say he was not good, we would say Jason Taylor is one of the most effective defensive midfielders we have had, but Cheltenham fans would say otherwise.

Go on Gary!

Good news. Hopefully they'll stay up and in turn, send a couple northern clubs down.

Nothing personal. Just would rather go to Cheltenham over places like Carlisle, Hartlepool, York or Tranmere.

I know what you mean, I prefer Northern clubs cos our away end is only ever 25% full at best, but part of being a professional club is being in the national leagues , we could always drop down to conference north/ south ! May the best teams survive and good luck to all those in the final mix up

4 managers in one season.. Law of averages suggests one has to pay off although their squad is very poor.

It's a decent away day Cheltenham but the club wouldn't look out of place in the conference in fairness and I'd much rather they went down over local clubs such as Tranmere. Even Carlisle and Hartlepool are more local.

I'd be sad to see Cheltenham drop out of the league as they are a local team and have had a few of our players over the years.

Johnson can turn it around but I think it will be to late, I'm surprised he took the job really.

I would guess that he just wants to keep his hand in. I think that CTFC are so far into the sh*t that you can't really blame him if they go down - look at Hartlepool, when they appointed Ronnie Moore I think even their fans were saying it was a decent appointment and if they went down at least they'd have a fair shot the following season.

This should have happened sooner as there's not many games left to turn the club around.

I'm in the too late camp, for me you change the manager 15 game minimum out of stick with what you have. In my view Cheltenham made a massive mistake sacking Yates, I'm pretty confident they would not be bottom now with him in charge.

Sacking Yates was foolish but what was even more foolish was replacing him with Paul Buckle.

May be a bit late for them.

They've hard games coming up and have a pretty poor squad. Other sides seem to be able to string wins together but these lot don't.

Still probably going to go down, then he will leave again then they'll be screwed all over again.

This division is too southern already, and will be even more so next year with who's coming into the division - so hopefully they'll go down

Yeah their main problem is that they don't have very many players up to standard, which is why the previous three managers haven't been able to get results. Unless Johnson plans on playing defensive football and then nicking a goal and hoping, I can't see them getting too many wins in 7 games. They'll get 1 or 2 for sure, but they're talking 4 wins and a draw out of 7 to get 50 points which I just can't see.

Has the potential to provide enough of a lift for 7 games or so, but are the players even good enough? You can't get blood out of a stone, and if they do end up going down this will do Cheltenham's finances no good at all - although that's obviously levelled up by the money they save if he keeps them in the league.

Hope he saves them anyway, just makes it even more interesting down the bottom. I'd have had Cheltenham pretty dead and buried after Saturday's result and their form, but it's another variable thrown into the mix.
