RefWatch; Ref for Gas v Wombles is Ben Toner, 30, from Darwen in Lancashire. Teaches English in Fleetwood High School, which seems a dreadful waste of time & money. No-one from Fleetwood will ever manage to speak English properly; to our cultured, Southern ears the accent sounds like a tramp getting sick into a bush. They all grow up to be fishermen or drug dealers anyway, so lets just put them on a boat when they turn seven and be done with it.

So, that's four teachers & three cops for us this season, don't they get enough abuse in their day jobs? Being a ref must be the pinnacle of white, middle class wankerhood; keeping us plebs in order seven days a week is their dream. I do wish the FA would mix it up a bit though; 'Today's ref is Sharon, 24, a crackwhore from Streatham. She subsidises her meagre earnings by reffing L2 games. 'It makes me feel dirty and ashamed but I really need the money. Please don't tell my friends, my reputation will be ruined'. Really good for 15 minutes, then collapses face down in a pool of vomit for the rest of the game, but she's still much, much better than Trevor Kettle'.

This is Toner's first season as a FL ref, & he doesn't get glowing reviews so far - 'easily bullied, picky & whistles far too much', just like our ref for the Yeovil match then, fussy little Darren England. He looks like him too, lots of teeth and hair gel. Great. Reffed Wombles once, the 2-0 home defeat to Pilgrims in Aug (1Y). Reffed Gas 3 times; the 3-2 win v Imps in Sept '14; the narrow 7-0 home win v Alfreton in April '15 and the 2-1 win v York in Dec '15 . Hates the scum. Never reffed them. Hates them. Home win % is 45% - average. In 18 games this season he has given 66 Y & 2 R - high yellow.

AnagramWatch; Ref Ben Toner = Born Rent Free.
Bristol Rovers =ITV Slob Error.

So after a season break we have the return of the 'Wombles go to Bristol Rovers only to return empty handed without scoring a goal' fixture.
The only change this season will be that we may actually score a goal.
Rovers home win. And Wombles fans to get soaked on the open terrace.

Given you haven't lost in any of the last 8 away games i fancy this will be a 0-0 bore draw unless akinfenwa bags one.

Weather forecast in Bristol is rain all day Saturday, so i'd go for the seats in the tent end (south stand) if you want to keep your pasty dry.

Up the gas!

Akinfenwa won't score. He's too busy eating chicken and selling hats these days to let trivial matters like football interfere in his life.

I hope we get something from this. My daughter is exiled in Scotland and hasn't seen a Dons match in about 3 years (even longer for a win). She's down for my dad's funeral in WsM tomorrow so we'll both be at the Mem on Saturday.

I see that you've sold out the south stand seats, any ideas how many of you will be getting wet on the terrace?

all seats are sold so it should be a half decent crowd of 6-7k despite the rain.

I'm bringing the waterproofs, I remember a game there a few years ago where we got absolutely drenched on the terrace, I'm expecting a repeat.

I would expect between 5 and 6 hundred away supporters.

This sucks. Doubt I'll be able to get down for the rematch.

Good job game has been called off. We now have winds exceeding 60mph plus torrential rain. Game would have been a farce and the away support would have either been blown or washed away. At least the away fans were told in time for them not to travel.

Sounds familiar ...
