After the late show last night, we return to Priestfield on Saturday against a Rochdale side doing wonders on what must be limited resources given their meagre crowds.

I've always thought Keith Hill to be a pretty decent manager and was hoping he might be tempted away from Spotland before we got JED, so we'll be in for a tough game despite the fact that Dale found themselves 0-4 down to the Swine after 40 minutes on yesterday.

Obviously the result is fairly irrelevant given our points total, but it would be nice to see us build on some decent results with a confident performance on Saturday. Actually playing from kick-off would be a nice touch. I'll go 2-1 Gills, Cody with one of them in front of a 5,000 crowd with 150-200 Dale making the long trip down..

Rochdale need to win to have any chance of play-offs, although they've more than likely already blown it. Does mean they'll attack us, which will probably suit us. 3-1 Gills.

I like Gillingham.

To me, they're a "proper" club who, until the last few years, would clout Dale a couple of times a season in their fairly routine promotions after having slipped briefly into Div 4. Much the same as Brentford before they won the lottery - competent but inoffensive.

Now, however, we're above them with something (albeit unlikely) to play for.

We're always likely to concede, but equally likely to score.

G'wan, lets sneak it 3-2, and keep the pressure (slightly) on Sheffield U/Chesterfield. .. :)

Could be an end-of-season snooze game for Gills.
I hope not. Be nice to continue the good momentum we've had until the season's end.

Dale need the win regardless, but still probably a bit of an ask to make the 6 now.

I'll go for another 2-2 Cody & Egan for us.

I think quite a few players will be playing for new contracts.
Also JE has given them a points target of 60.
Edinburgh doesn't seem to be the sort of manager that will allow any slacking or freewheeling
I reckon this could be a really entertaining game.
Rochdale are normally an attacking side and they know they need a win, a draw is no good to them.
We like to attack, mainly because we are not much cop at defending.

Down to 9, oops.

Let's see this out, it doesn't sound comfortable at all though, regardless of the 2 man advantage.

Says it all when you have to timewaste in the corner against 9 men.

Now, now. We had a narrow 1-0 lead with a few minutes to go against a decent team who were creating some chances, any team would have done the same.

Not against NINE men. It was laughable. Think we deserved at least a draw to our credit with all the adversity, as I said D'Urso wasn't good enough for the prem, and he's not good enough for L1 either.

Like I said, you were creating more chances than us, regardless of how many men each team had. If you're under pressure with little time to go you do whatever you can to slow things down, I'd rather we'd torn you a new one with our 2 man advantage but for whatever reason we couldn't, so it sounds like we were professional and got the job done.

Haven't seen a team go to ground so easy since Sheff u, the main culprit being 27 which is a shame as when he stayed up was a decent player

Same way I haven't seen a team as dirty since league two. Can tell you nabbed Edinburgh from L2 with those tactics that's for sure. Our number 27 Andy Cannon was a target all game long for you, the studs flew in regularly but dimwit D'Urso turned a blind eye. I knew it would eventually be the team not even making those sorts of fouls that would be punished, could see a mile off. He bottled out of the dirtiest of the lot in the exact same place our second red took place in, showing just a yellow. He isn't even fit for Sunday League. Nuff said.

Your number 27 deserved everything he got. Plenty of rolling around and an awful tackle on Dickenson (which was followed by an excellent tackle back on him, which he rolled around a little more for). I enjoy beating teams who dive about. Your keeper tried to fight most of our team on his way off as well - prick.

We played all the football in the first half, then for some reason stopped that once the cards started coming. The first red was 100%, the second about 60/70%. The only thing i agree with the other poster with is that Loft should also have gone.

That number 27 really was an embarrassment. Every time he got touched he went down as if he'd been shot in the first hall hour, and then when the ball came to him, he was running around like a greyhound, so he was obviously feigning injury to try to get someone sent off, as even if one of those tackles had hurt him he wouldn't have been able to run around like that. I hate horrible little w**nkers like him, he really needs a good talking to by his manager or he'll never make it in the game.
Then when Loft went in hard on one of there players, their team gathered round the ref, gesticulating for the ref to send him off, which I thought was disgusting. They weren't too bad a team football wise, but when resorting to those dirty tricks it just makes you hate the obnoxious cheats.
I do agree it was embarrassing when Dack talk the ball to the corner flag when we were 1 up against 9 men.
The first sending off was a definite, I don't think the second was a sending off though.

He's not our keeper he's Prestons and they can have him back.

The comments on this thread at laughable, he's never 'dived' or 'feigned injury' against other sides so why would he choose to do it just today? He's hardly Joe Garner and well known for doing it. Think you'll find you're the first and probably the last to say it about Cannon, he simply isn't the type of player you're making him out to be. Your players targeted him, probably because you've had us watched and the last few games he's been our most influential player. I'm genuinely amazed he lasted 90 mins today with the bashing your lot have him. He's only 19 but what a talent he is shaping out to be, watch this space.

Ok, well I could say that WE don't target players for a kicking. We aren't like that. Doesn't mean that Cannon DIDN'T spend today diving all over the place, cause he did.

Very mature response.

Anyway, see you next year Dale.
No, it was the correct response. He was being fouled all afternoon the poor lad. And yes you will do, I'm sure it will be a pleasure as long as today's antics aren't to be repeated.

Both teams put in a few hard tackles and I'm quite glad that we seem to be getting a little tougher as we have dropped points that could've changed our season because we weren't as physical as some of our opponents

If the boy's only 19, perhaps he'd better get back to the youth team until he grows up and learns it's a man's game. He's by far the worse nasty little cheat I've seen at Priestfield all season!!
