After an unbeaten August in the league and a 2 game away stretch it's back to Priestfield to see if our young team can get September off to a flyer.

With Cody, Osadebe and Loft back in training our squad should be near full strength, though Edinburgh seems to be loyal to players who are performing well so they might not start. Garmston and A. Morris are still carrying knocks so might not feature.

Nelson
Jackson
Egan
Oshilaja
Dickenson
Wright
Houghton
Dack
Hessenthaler
Norris
Donnelly

Subs: G.Morris, Ehmer, Loft, Osadebe, Mcglashan, Williamson, Mcdonald to make up a ridiculously strong bench.

I predict a 2-1 win to Gills and Rik Waller to eat the lad from One Direction.

I might bring Loft in for Hess but can't argue otherwise. The bench is looking ridiculous this year!

Cody had a game for the development squad yesterday and I can see him starting in place of Donnelly.
Nice to have options though.

Based on our two home games a defo win for Gills, is Williamson the goal machine now on the bench already? or is that your hopeful selection. What do Gills fans make of him, simply awful player, Lofty is class.

To be honest Darren he has been neither good nor bad.
He has just been kind of hard working, running around a lot and makes the occasional contribution.
He is probably fourth choice though, third at best behind Cody and Luke Norris.
It is a shame Loft has been injured all season as he seemed to be finding his form towards the back end of last season.
he is now fit again but may have to bide his time as the whole midfield is playing well at present.

Loft still highly thought of here and was huge loss. Willo just can,t score , he does run around a lot and the effort is there but somewhat a 'headless chicken'. As always you can only go on what you have seen and Donny were simply dreadful at our place but were my tip for Promotion hence they are shite !! Surprised someone like Charlton or Brighton didn,t come sniffing for Dack on deadline day, impressive player just shame about that 70's mullet

Apparently we had bids from Bristol City and Huddersfield for Dack but nowhere near his valuation.
I think he is going for the 'moody Italian' look with the hair and facial growth.
Loft will be back in the side soon I'm sure, he is club captain after all. He may even replace Hessie Jnr on Saturday.

Williamson was signed as a 4th choice forward, he's had games because McDonald has been out and it's important to rotate early doors when you're playing every saturday and tuesday for the first few weeks. Don't expect much from him though.

I reckon Dack will end up going for somewhere between 2 and 3 million at some stage, hopefully to a team with realistic Championship play-off potential at least - he has all the attributes to go right to the top and seemingly the right attitude as well.

He's under contract until 2018 and having an absolute blinder of a season so far, if he does go he won't come cheap.

we had a meet the owners do on Thursday and Dickov was left in no doubt that no more Port Vale performances would be tolerated, the board also made it clear that they expect a top six finish. I'm over in Zante so I've made sure to have plenty of Amstel ready for either a win or Dickov getting the boot

Hopefully the latter, most Gills hate Dickov more than you lot do, dour, shifty little midget.

I am suddenly very depressed. Need to watch the 2000 play off to cheer myself up

Stonewall pen turned down then a goal given that apparently didn't cross the line bugger.

Ah, but you see our commentators say it was never a pen and the ball definitely crossed the line....who to believe?

The ball was cleared off the line twice before the lino gave our goal, fairly sure the first attempt was over the line, while the second was headed away. Big call from the official so he must have been fairly sure.

Even game really but we had more chances and deserved the win in the end. If Donny's strikers could stay on their feet in the penalty box they'd score a hell of a lot more than instantly dropping to the floor.

It was definitely over the line.

It was also definitely a penalty.

I think we were the better side throughout though and just about deserved the win, although Donny weren't too bad and created more shooting opportunities than either Sheff Utd or Wigan before them.

Wow. 3 of our 4 ever-present starting defence out late today.
We still keep a clean sheet
And with Lofty filling in as a CB. What the...? Pure class and I hear he played very well there against some 6'5" monsters.

Our boards seem to be split about both those decisions. Although the prevailing view seems to be the pen "looked like" a dive. Coming from the home fans, so was probably a stone-wall pen :bg:

Onward and upward.

I don't think it was a pen, maybe if their players hadn't been dropping like flies in our area it might have been given. But if you're going with that tactic then there's every chance a genuine penalty shout will be turned down.

Only going on what Dowie was saying but he did state that you deserved the win.
