Third home game in just over a week and results are slowly improving for us.

Not fussed Josh Wright has gone, and if the lad we signed yesterday from Wednesday is anything like the player I watched on his highlight reel, I'd chuck him in as starter. A player that actually runs at the opposition with
pace, not seen that in a long time, certainly beats slow, sideways passing any day.

We've got a former Shrew loanee in Tom Eaves who could come back to haunt them, especially if provided with decent service. Equally they have Stefan Payne who never really made it with us, although he showed brief glimpses. I'm hoping he has an off day, we have a good day and register our first 3 points of the season.

I'm hoping for a dodgy corner to be given in the 86th minute, smashed in off Simeon Jacksons bonce

Good effort PuB certainly made up for the 7-0 shellacking earlier in that season, the only game I've ever left early (44th minute at 4-0).

What a strange season that was!

2-0 down at half-time. Just had a look at Gills' first XI -- when did it get so poor?

When our annual budget got spunked by Edinburgh last season on shit like JET and all our spare cash is tied up in legal fees fighting our ex-caterers, Scally does love a trip to court. Our annual playing budget is currently £1.6m which is fuck all at this level, we've resorted to signing L2 cast-offs from the likes of Crewe and Yeovil and we're paying the price.

Pennock is crap but I can't see the point in getting shot of him, I can't see anyone turning this current bunch into a decent side.

We were the better side today though. Til they scored. Then we panicked. They scored again and shut up shop. We weren't good enough going forward to bother them. First half hour we should've been 2 up though, and that's where the problem lies.

We're fucking awful. My biggest fear is that Pennock gets sacked and we end up with Peter Taylor in charge.

Think we all know that will happen.
Will be suprised if we're not plying L2 football this time next season

We were pretty poor today and our keeper made a couple of very good saves early on. Gills were very direct, lumping it up to Eaves all game but it was fairly effective tactic.

when we scored the confidence drained out of the Gills players and then we scored another before half time. The dead cert penalty we should have got just before ht would have killed the game had we scored it. Can't quite believe how the ref gave it the other way

Atmosphere was like a pre season friendly. Another 3 points continues our ridiculous start to the season, we were pretty much everyone's favourites for relegation

I thought everybody's favourites for relegation were Blackpool, Wimbledon, Northampton, and Gillingham, and that you would be midtable-ish?

It absolutely was a pen - right in front of us and clear as day.

We should converted 2 chances before our first though

We were definitely the bookies favourites however we have moved up the odds table since, and a number of tabloids plus Sky.
Check out the premature prediction thread and the comments.
