Should win.

Then again, should've beaten Blackpool and Oldham in recent weeks. Does seem like we've only played 'form' sides in the last few weeks which has been annoying. Bar Chesterfields win against Crewe last time out, they don't seem to be particularly on any sort of run which could help.

No idea how the back 4 will line up as we still don't know if Oshilaja will be in for the weekend. If he is, then I expect a 4 of Garmston - Ehmer - Oshilaja - Morris. It's midfield where I feel the injuries have hit us most, as we've had to move so many around to accommodate the back 4 issues. Loft is out for a couple of weeks now which is a blow, as he was starting to get some form. Wright and Dack are in, so it's two from Hess, Osadebe, McGlashan and Dickenson realistically, unless we change shape. Donnelly and Samuel should continue together up front, although they're a little too similar for me.

3-1 Gills

Really need the 3 points to keep pressure on wigan and burton, and keep the teams below us at bay.

Hopefully oshilaja will have re-signed in time to play.

Gills 2-0 Chesterfield

Something tells me that Gillingham may be slightly fragile here.

Well, we're missing arguably the best centre back and right back in the division. Any team would be weaker! Loft is out, which is a blow, but other than that we've still got the firepower.

Was debating going but now i've got tot work - reckon the two times i've been before are enough though! Think we will lose unfortunately though i'd love a point! Two treks in a week for us too, could be a couple of very low followings.

Glad to see Shez doing well. Better off the booze that fella. Obvious limitations as a manager but who down here hasn't?

The El-Abd effect. I'm really sorry Gills fans.

Could've scored 3 in the first 3 minutes, since then we've been wank, and dack has gone off injured.
We're playing an awful side as well, which is more annoying.

You're wank too, evidently.

So far so good.

Of course we're shit, we're struggling in a really poor quality league, it can't have come as a surprise to you?

Massive win though, let's have another one on Tuesday please!

Well that was a real coupon killer.

I'll take being called a poor side every week - and it's an accusation I won't challenge - as long as it's from outfits we've taken points from.

This is a shite division this season, and it's that fact which might save us.

Now I'm home and can feel my fingers again I'll write a bit more.

We should've got at least a point out of that, it was one-way traffic all the way through. First came from a free-kick which Chesterfield broke quickly from, good run from the quick lad who chose to actually stay on his feet (if he didn't fall over so much he'd be a good player) and deliver for Ebanks-Blake to bundle home. Second was a killer right on half time, good hit from Novak but it went pretty central so you could argue Nelson should've at least got a hand to it. Made a sub and a tactical change in the second half and were pretty much camped in Chesterfields half for the duration. Scores of crosses and blocks from defenders but no killer touch until Osadebe headed one home. Donnelly should've scored a couple of minutes later but headed over from 6 yards. Then there was an almighty scramble at the death which could've ended up absolutely anywhere.

Chesterfield were as expected, pretty ordinary, but what they did have that we lacked was an absolute prick in the centre of midfield. We just aren't a nasty side at all, so for backs to the wall performances like Chesterfield put in today you need some niggly players just to disrupt and get in the refs ear for 90 minutes.

I won't get too downhearted as we're still third, but we're just a shadow of the side that started the season. If I was making a Gills 'Team of the Season', then of the side that played today, I'd only have Nelson, Jackson, Wright, Dack, Morris and Samuel, which isn't great at this time of the season. We've been decimated recently, which is such a frustration.

Who was the niggly prick in our midfield? I wasn't there, but I thought it was Banks and Dimiao? Neither particularly defensive types!

Liam O'Neil might be? Must have played 3 across the middle. I wouldn't label him as a nasty player either to be honest though

Could be.

He wasn't a dirty player, just cynical. Made 4 or 5 little trip fouls first half, not enough for a yellow for any of them but should've been done for persistant misconduct. Then of course he was the first to cry foul play and berate the ref if he got touched (after having rolled around a bit first!)

He needed to get a bit more streetwise as he was useless when he first came.

Didn't really have much to do in honesty. Couple of dodgy passes here and there but did most things pretty well.

One more thing I forgot to mention, was pretty disappointed with a few of the away support for cheering when Dack went down injured, and then gave him wanker signs on the way to the tunnel. Not cool chaps.
