2015 was a seriously good year to be a Gills fan, lets hope it wasn't a one off and we can get off to a good start here. Got to fancy ourselves at home against anyone, and I'd prefer to be playing a better side like Bradford than a relegation candidate. We have the best record in the league against the middle third of the division, only dropping 2 points.

Couple of changes for this one, I think Norris may well start in place of Donnelly, and I can see a start for either Loft or Osadebe over Hessenthaler. Wouldn't change the back 5 at all.

3-1 Gills, crowd of about 7k with 350 from Bradford.

Happy New Year one and all!

Don't know what to expect. We went 10 games unbeaten without conceeding in 6 straight games. And prior to the Sheff Utd game, we'd conceded twice in 15 hours of football.

I think the lads will have had a rocket up their arse after FT at BL, so I'm expecting a performance. However, we're yet to beat anyone in the top 6.

He needs to drop Hanson.

Close 1-0 to City.

Expecting a tough game against a decent side, but confidence is very high at the moment with 3 wins in a row.

Going for a tight 2-1 Gillingham win

Gillingham 2-1 City, we'll go 1-0 up just before half time and then two deserved late goals for them by the player with the long hair. With 264 of us making the miserable trip home.

Gills fans, are there any cash turnstiles in the home ends? Or do you have to go to the ticket office? As there is no chance of me standing on that scaffolding if it's raining!

Joe,
You wouldn't bring Oshilaja back in for Ehmer?
I know Ehmer played well on Monday, indeed he won man of the match, but I would be surprised if JED doesn't bring Deji back in if fit.
Hessie Jnr looked off the pace on Saturday and maybe could do with a rest.
Loft in for him and Oshilaja in for Ehmer the two changes for me.
Will be a tight, difficult game but as has been said, you've got to fancy us at home against anyone really (Burton was 0-0 untill Loft had a hissy fit and two of Burton goals were in stoppage time so I wouldn't read too much into that).
1-0 or 2-1 Gills.
If the weather is too bad you will be put in the Gordon Rd under cover by the way City fans.

I think it would be very harsh to drop Ehmer after a clean sheet but I take your point. It could be that we won't e able to extend Oshilajas loan so Edinburgh has decided to give Ehmer a few games to prove that we don't need another first choice centre back. Lloyd Doyley is supposedly training with us at the minute which could indicate Deji doesn't have long left at the club sadly.

No cash turnstiles for the home end so you will indeed have to go to the ticket office. Sometimes they move the away fans into the Gordon Road Stand if it's raining but I'm not sure they'll be able to do that if you're bringing around 300. That'd be the best stand to sit in if you want to go in the home end.

I absolutely wouldn't drop Ehmer, he's come into the team after a long while out and played well... Dropping him after such a solid performance would really send out all the wrong signals in my opinion. I think we'll see a few changes as JED's said he could see some players were very tired in the last game and that he should probably have made some changes for that game.

I take your point Rainham, and agree to a certain extent, but I feel that Deji may be better equiped to deal with that head on a stick Hanson.

Cheers pal, doubt we'll take over 300 and it looks like it's gonna be raining heavily tomorrow, how efficient is your ticket office pre match? Don't want to miss valuable drinking time.

There was a ruddy massive queue on Monday, so you might want to get in there early doors.

Thanks for the advice. Also what are the best pubs near the ground for real ale? Usually stop in Rochester before but just going straight to Gillingham tomorrow.

Depends what time you arrive mate. There's a quality micropub in the town on Skinner Street, just off the end of the High Street. Probably a 15/20 minute walk from the away end. Great beer though.

The Will Adams is a great real ale venue pre and post match, a lot of away fans drink and chat happily with the homesters.

For today...typical Gills - 0-1 to City.

3 cracking goals there but pretty harsh on Bradford I thought. I think maybe we should drop Dack for the rest of January...

That third goal was beautifully constructed. Doesn't show the keep-ball we were playing in the corner leading up to it.

Brilliant win our blistering start knocked the stuffing out of bradford,

Can't remember the last time we took maximum points over the Xmas and new year period.

50 points in the board already starting to believe this team can achieve something special .

1 or 2 more points and we'll be safe now!

A good 3 points, Gills being very clinical in front of goal. Bradford looking to utilise their physical threat were over reliant on finding Hanson at every opportunity, to be fair he won a lot in the air but in non threatening areas of the pitch.

A quick well done to the turnout from City fans, the early arrivers got housed in part of the covered GRS but the later ones had to endure the monsoon in the uncovered seats, it couldn't have been an enjoyable day out.

I think 3-0 was a bit generous but there's no denying we were the better side throughout. Thought City looked far more dangerous when Billy Clarke came on - if Dack is to leave in this window then I wouldn't mind putting a bid in for him as a replacement.

This definitely deserves a mention, great following all things considered. I genuinely felt quite sorry for the Bradford fans, especially those standing there in the pissing rain, when we went 2-0 up inside 11 minutes. I'm pretty sure a lot of people probably felt the same given the round of applause the home end gave when the number of away followers was read out.

Whilst paying in at the turnstiles the steward assured me that we could go undercover, as soon as I entered another steward came over and said side stand is full, no more transfers to the that stand. Day was awful, got pissed wet through, didn't see the third goal and sending off as I left just after half time to go to the pub, haven't done that since Rotherham away at Don Valley.
Well done Gills a deserved three points, hope you go up.
