On paper a very, very tough game. Probably off paper as well. About the hardest fixture you could get in this division looking at Gills home form, only 9 points dropped all season is just ridiculous.

However, we've won 7 in a row in the league and didn't miss Johnson at all on Sunday when we soundly buggered Bury 3-0. To make it 8 wins in a row after losing 8 in a row a little over a few months ago would be nothing short of miraculous and surely some sort of record (fcuk knows what, mind). I think I'd take a point though.

Was considering going but I'm not sure I fancy that open scaffolding looking at the weather forecast.

We've been very patchy lately overall but our home form is still good. Can't call this game at all. I think we'll trounce someone at home soon but I think that's more likely to be Chesterfield at the end of the month rather than Barnsley. We should've beaten Swindon last weekend in all honesty, so we ought to be coming into this on the back of 4 successive home wins.

Can't really argue with Barnsleys form of late although bar Millwall, none of the other sides they've beaten have been promotion contenders. I honestly don't know too much about their squad other than Winnall and Hammill, who are both good players. Edinburgh has suggested he's in the market for another forward on loan which would make sense, but time is running out for him to play a part on saturday.

I'll go for an optimistic view, and 2-1 Gills. Safe trip to the travelling Tykes

Looks a very tough game for us too given your recent form.

If the weather is forecast to be toss they'll probably move you to one of the end blocks of the Gordon Road Stand, although even so I still wouldn't blame you for not making the journey down to finest Gillingham...

I can't shake a nagging feeling that we're owed a proper tanking by someone, the reverse fixture was just that and I worry that Saturday might be a repeat. This is based on nothing more than my glass-isn't-half-full-there-is-no-glass outlook on life.

It won't be 0-0.

That is about all I know though.

Bottled going in the end. Hope I'm left regretting that by 5pm.

I've a feeling we could get brought back down to earth today, I'd not actually considered that our 7 wins have come largely vs teams down the bottom end of the table, although you can only beat what's in front of you.

If we win though it's going to be hard not to feel like we're capable of a play off push.

Edit to say I love the pessimism from all involved in this thread (apart from Joe) despite both team's good form. How it should be:2thumb:

Winning run had to come to an end at some point and there's no shame losing today to a team that have only dropped 9 points at home all season.
Sounds like we gave it a good go but a stupid error and switching off straight after equalising cost us.

If they can put it behind them and carry on playing the way they have since Christmas and don't now, as quite often happens in these situations, go on a losing run, I'm sure we'll stay clear of danger and occasionally look to trouble the top 10.

Good luck for the rest of the season Gills.

Wasn't an amazing performance, but a vital 3 points. Thought Samuel played well, is there any chance of us keeping him if we get promoted?

Not at our best but this could turn out to be a massive win with the form that barnsley are in and walsall and wigan dropping points it was a good weekend to be a gills fan.

We need to start picking up more points on the road, starting at oldham next if we are going to earn a auto spot
