GM Vauxhall Conference Team of the Season 2017/18 - Centre Forwards

So after some my excellent democratic decision in the CM category we come towards the end of this emotional journey.

We now have 9 of the 11 places filled:
GK - Scott Loach (Hartlepool United)

RB - Kane Smith (Borehamwood)
LB - Dave Fitzpatrick (Macclesfield Town)
CB - Dave Winfield (Ebbsfleet)
CB - Shaun Pearson (Wrexham)

LM - Bruno Andrade (Borehamwood)
RM - Elliott Durrell (Macclesfield Town)
CM - Danny Whitaker (Macclesfield Town)
CM - Danny Whitehead (Macclesfield Town)

Just the 2 centre forwards left, and great opportunity to argue over who is actually the best.

My votes go to Andy Cook and Morgan Ferrier.

I'm going to go with Cook and Norwood. Norwood has to be in, he did it when it mattered most in the big games.

Rowe is actually a better player than both but didn't really seem to do that much in the second half of the season.

That team is very decent.

Didn’t see many outstanding forwards last season. Rowe was absolutely dire last day of the season. Cook didn’t really do much apart from score because Dunn decided to go walkabouts. Norwood didn’t either. Bruno Andrade was great against us, but he seems to have been picked for midfield, even though he played in a flexible front 2. Who else is there?
If I’m not basing it on performances against us, then Cook and Rowe have been the best strikers statistically.

Ferrier shouldn't be anywhere near it. He was very hit and miss with us. Did alright when going back to Boreham but shouldn't be part of the 'best two strikers' this season.

This is the other position in my season review where I picked a Rovers player and the first reserve would have been from Rovers too. So although he didn't make an impact against Rovers this season, as a player who looks capable of playing at a higher level, I nominate Macauley Bonne (Leyton Orient) alongside the inevitable Danny Rowe (Fylde)
