My vote goes to Defoe, loved the way it dipped.

Assist of the season goes to Fabregas against Burnley. Best pass I've ever seen.

Nah, Özil vs Villa from what I've seen. Cesc's was incredibly well weighted but lacks the panache factor.

GOTS has to be Adam, it was extraordinary. I also liked Mata's vs Liverpool, I think that is a lot harder to pull off than most long range efforts.

Don't think there was as many strong contenders this season as the last few, and I'm not a proponent of every 25-30 yard strike being seen as such. However, that seems to be most of the choices and Phillips and Adam were a bit more special than the traditional long-range strikes. My vote goes to Adam, though it seems were missing some options. Surely there had to be better goals than Rooney's? Mata's goal against Liverpool was superior to that.

The Özil and Cesc assists were both world class touches. Both were weighted perfectly from unconventional opportunities. I don't think there is much to separate the two.

i was thinking that, not really that great of a goal

Rooneys was brilliant, the touch was absolutely sensational and the finish on the turn like that incredibly difficult. It just got buried on a weekend of unreal goals.

I prefer it to Defoe's that same weekend which looked better than it was. Zamora's and Adam's were both better though. Better than Coutinho too which was a standard long ranger

It shouldnt be on this list but it would win goal of the month in a weak month and it definitely merited more praise than it got.

Stockport County.
Mata's 2nd at Anfield was better than Rooney's.

i'd class Defoe's strike over Adam's. To perform a volley like that takes great technique and timing.

Zamora should be on this list

No chance is that better. The Fabregas pass was a volley through a crowd of players perfectly weighted for Schurrle. It was as close to perfection as possible. Ozil couldn't do it, that's what I'm saying.

It might be slightly bias but I really liked Cresswells goal against Stoke, the way it tricked the keeper and went in the other corner, not as good as Adams or Defoes but it was still a class goal.

Wilshere the first player in the PL to win it 2 years on the bounce. Fully deserved.

Jagielka's vs Liverpool for me. Didn't even get a mention on MOTD.

No surprise to see Wilshere's win it, Arsenal fans love a Twitter poll.

Twitter poll is a bit of a crap way of doing it. Arsenal are disproportionately represented on social media. Still, it was a good goal but I think Adam should have won it.

Technique behind Zamora's is immense.

Wilshere's doesn't even deserve to be on the list. It's a good goal, but there's easily better about.

Zamora's was my favourite, Wilshere's was definitely not the best goal. It was also utterly meaningless.

I've always thought that the best goal should be determined by thinking how many players could do that given one chance in the same circumstances. Long distance ones are great but the more technical ones, and the ones that come in big games, those are one in a million.

So I'm more inclined to Zamora's outside foot chip. But for the class of goal in an important game, Defoe's dipping volley in the Tyne/Weir derby and Mata's bicycle kick in Liverpool/United, one of those would be my pick.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Funny how MOTD made a point of having Wilshire's goal in their shortlist when they couldnt possibly have squeezed Hart's save in to last weekend's vote.

Charlie Adam for me.

It just so happens that twitter was correct. The quality of his goal was top drawer.

Also just to note. Walcott scored as many goals in 1 game as the Player of the Season has in the whole of 2015.

Also note. Our CB turned RB has better assists and goals stats as the best number 10 in the history of football....the same guy who cost 42 million....

....but that's none of my business.
