Well seeing as Burton have gone 3 without scoring and their last goal was an own goal bring on the Vale to end their drought . Our away form is abysmal to say the least , 5 points from 21 all against the current bottom 3. Sick of feeling down in dumps but really can,t see anything other than a home win to set up a crunch 6 pointer against Shrews the week after. Yet to win at Burton since they came into the league and no reason that will change on saturday. Hope there is a bit of passion or reaction from terraces may be interesting.

Draw here I reckon we always draw at Burton.

Must attack them though!

Everything points to a continuation of the Potteries sides slump at their Staffs rivals.

The Staffordshire Derby - just for anyone who thinks Burton is in Derbyshit !
Beer v Oatcake !
Always keenly contested at the Pirelli, I think we might sneak this one, we are certainly due a goal or two and owe Vale big time after our last encounter !

Missing our star man in Andoh which is a huge blow going forward as there are few more talented players at this level, be interesting to see what our line up is. Burton are up there despite scoring very few goals but keep it tight whilst we score very few goals and also have conceded as many as scored so not expecting a classic! We are superb at home but flat away and a lot will depend what mood Ikpeazu is in. Hopefully the big away following will spur us on!

Sounds like Stuart Beavon is not going to be available for Albion, if Thiele is upfront on his own then we won't score but maybe we will go 2 up front with Aureliem Joachim starting, if that's the case I fancy us. Still going for a 0-0.

My 2 2 was daft. I'm also going for 0 0 now as we can't score goals. And vale can't score penalties so it's going to be a long afternoon for both of us

Neither score many and neither let in a great deal (despite our set piece issues!) so maybe it will end up 3-3!

Hate to ruin the fun !! 1-0 Burton after our customary defensive shambles, lot of unhappy Vale fans will be calling for a change, will Smurf have the bottle ?

If we keep making the same errors (i.e. corners!) then id back a change but overall we've put in 4 or 5 performances that have been far better than we've seen at this level in many years so would be harsh in that respect. We just need to take the home performance level away!

If you take the home performances away, what are you left with?

Sure you don't want Williamson back?

I meant play as well away as at home but went a long arsed way of explaining it!

I don't want Willo back, one that always had promise but never makes that final step up.

I'd swap ALS for Williamson. At least he scored the odd goal.

Staffordshire la la la Staffordshire la la la, looking on the Albion fans forum there is barely a comment on todays game, you would never believe we are local rivals.

Not one with a rivalry though, most Vale fans seem to have a soft spot for Burton to a degree, myself included. It's nice that I live 15 miles away too so my local game!

Even sensationalist news whore drama queens Radio Stoke would struggle to keep a straight face calling this game a rivalry.

Yellow card for a 50-50 header he's entitled to make, yellow card for diving five minutes after a Burton player avoids a yellow for diving, a free kick for handball a yard away with his back to play and a yellow for McGivern for a great challenge. Speechless. Burton look dreadful but they'll win this with this clown in the middle

The referee should be ashamed of his performance today, absolutely dreadful.
To be fair, Vale played well with 10 men for the majority of the game but we certainly deserved the 3 points.
Vale didn't threaten us at all and I was surprised we didn't score more with the chances we had.
Both players for Vale and Burton deserved to be sent off

That didn't feel like a football match, more like an attack vs defence training session. Obviously Ikpeazu's red card didn't help things but don't think it made that much of a difference, Page just isn't interested in winning away games and would happily draw them all 0-0.

Failing to score in 5/8 away games so far this season = struggle to gain any forward momentum.

We desperately need a change of style and attitude on the road. Thank God for our home form.

I'm furious to be honest, we've done the hard work and when there lad about killed Foley and was off he should of gone for it as Burton looked very very poor going forward and Alnwick had one save to make and we could of taken advantage. Instead we sit back and they get a scrappy one then we are forced to chase the game with little time. Could of had a penalty for the trip on Dodds which they then broke and scored but with the clown in charge we were never going to get anything.

Uche apparently came out at half time to remonstrate which might get him in more trouble. If that first is a yellow then no one would ever challenge for a header again. Second one if stupidity if it was a dive but again zero consistency as he didn't book the Burton lad for diving just before!

Page has to go after that today, I can't see the benefit of keeping him, weve played two sides on a slide and lost them both weakly, because he chose to keep dead wood we've lost Andoh and Moore to injury and have no Uche now next week so have zero attacking players left capable.

Disappointing as Burton looked pretty poor and it sums up how dire the division is as a whole when you compare the performances MK and Bristol City put in against us last year. Time to save the season as this is there for the taking but need a loan striker and a new manager who won't play for 0-0 away every week.

An awful refereeing display, got so much wrong but the 2 sendings off right. We huffed and puffed with little threat first half, 2nd half we probed patiently without over commiting, Zeli Ismail coming on gave us pace and a real threat on the right and if we had a decent striker on the pitch the game would have been over much sooner.
Difficult to judge Vale with them being down to 10 men for so long and having a few attacking options absent through injury but I can't remember a single shot on target, definitely the worst Vale side to come to the Pirelli.
3 points in the bag without playing too well in all honesty.

Well that was dire, not one shot on target. Burton were poor but not as bad as us,page comes out after and said he was proud of his team. SORRY Page but its time to go, so clueless.

Boring boring Page. He just isn't a manager that 'goes for it' in a game, sometimes that isn't a bad thing but he is far too cautious 90% of the time. For one, he prefers to play midfielders and wingers who protect us going defensively rather than concentrate on us attacking the opposition.

1 or 2 more defeats and Norman will probably wield the axe.

I couldn't care less if we look poor as valefan16 says we needed to win and did. It stops the rot. We did the job today and it may give us confidence to play better as we where under par in the first
Both where justified reds in my opinion
Vale looked out of ideas going forward. Some good players but not working for you
