That's the measure of the man.

Walsall are weird for not taking to him. Literally every other club he has been at he has been loved.
Clarke was a great player for Pools & always had time to talk to the fans,I never heard anyone say anything negative about him.
When he left Salisbury, i was hoping he'd come here, but we wern't interested & he went to Brizzle, the rest is history as they say.
I hope he leads you to promotion.

He didn't even come here as manager either he was assistant to John Ward the season we got relegated to the conference.
He left Walsall when we were looking for a new manager after Tisdale and got a few of our fans excited for a number of days until he showed up at Vale.

We are really struggling for confidence away from home and can't buy a performance or a victory. The current injury and suspension problems don't help, with young players like Warrington and Hawkes running on empty but having to play week in, week out.

We are still strong at home, but we have given ourselves too much to do to make the top seven now.

I thought Bradford deserved to win the game, but the red card was justified in my view. The number eighteen made three daft and unnecessary fouls in the space of five minutes and only had himself to blame. It was a good second half performance from MacManaman and a quality goal to earn us a point.

Very good result for us today which we needed to get back on track. No McKirdy and yet both of our other forwards grabbed a brace each. Disappointed to concede in added time but having made all 3 subs to save legs for Monday we were down to 10 men for the last 15 mins due to Rob Hunts season ending injury. The bonus is that our injured players are back and playing themselves into fitness and form. McKirdy should be back for Leyton Orient on Monday which should actually make us stronger than today. Like most of the top 11 Monday is massive for us. Win that and we could just as easily win the remaining 4 (Pools, FGR, Barrow & Walsall) which would although unlikely to get us into the top 3 would hopefully get us into the playoffs with a serious amount of momentum

do you think you'll keep Andy Cook? IF we stay up he'd be an improvement on our strikers this season.
I think he'll stay. I'm not sure he's going to be first choice, but he's well liked here and the only capable/not injury prone striker we have. We probably could do better but our reputation for signing strikers is in the toilet so I reckon he'll have a part to play next season.

Woken up by youngster this morning earlier than usual, spoiled a nice dream I was having that we were beating FGR 4-0. Anyway, looking forward to this afternoon's game, should be decent weather for it.

Sadly his daughter Ellie died. His brother Wayne announced they laid her to rest 4 weeks ago.

Fucking hell. That’s just horrific.

They reminded me of when they were under Ronnie Moore, diving about and putting players in head locks. I wouldn’t be happy with that performance if I were them when chasing the playoffs, but for one bit of quality they offered nothing and we haven’t won at home in 3 months and obviously had 10 men most the game.

We’re in a false position. In a way don’t really want us to go up now. Would do us better staying down a year, getting rid of the shite, recruiting better this summer and going again next season. Sounds like we robbed a point and we were against 10 men for 70 mins

We were just awful until it was too late. I watched on iFollow and there was a complete lack of bottle just when we need it most. The distribution from the back was terrible. Honestly, first half Scunthorpe could have beaten us.

Second half was much improved and Waite took his goal well but I thought he was lucky not to get a second yellow before that. We now need to win at Sutton but we'll have to make a better job of handling Ajiboye than we did at our place.

He is still contracted for next season. However, you are very welcome to take him off our hands.

If he is not moved on in the summer, he will be utilised as back-up only next season for us.

Will we be on TV quite a lot?

If Oldham go down with us we will be about the 10th biggest club in that league
You will be, they'll stick you on very early doors against a massive tinpotter and hope you come unstuck, which you will. You will then have Adam Virgo talking about what a long way back it'll be for such a huge club who played in the Championship however long ago that was.

As for 10th biggest? Aside from Wrexham, Stockport, Notts, Grimsby, Southend, and Chesterfield, you probably come in after them so maybe 6th or 7th. You may even be 4th/5th biggest if the two with the biggest bankrolls come up, so there's a feather in your cap. Good luck anyway, it's hard yakker down there but possible to get back in time.

yeah even we came back - although it did take 48 years.....
on the subject of the TV you'll be on TV 1st match if you're away at a little team or a team that's just come up.

It’s not the funniest goal I’ve ever seen.

And it’s not the first we’ve scored by putting a defensive player in possession under pressure

Mistakes happen.

Mendy in a champions league qtr final, it can happen in league 2.

Annoying as has had we got the early goal sutton’s game plan wouldn’t have worked and we’d have been fine

It'll be Maidenhead away, a nice early 'Devonshiring' to welcome them to NL.

They like to put a relegated side on against someone just promoted from the South. Usually the latter team ends in -ing.

You know the suffix 'ing' is from old Englush/Saxon and means town or similar?

In the same vein 'ley' from Crawley means a clearing in a forest and 'ton' from Bolton means a dump you can't wait to leave.

This is one of the funniest ive seen from Southend. I think there was a more recent one from them too the season they went down to the conference but I cant locate it
