Hi!

I'm from Russia so please exuse me my mistakes in English.

I want to ask you about one thing.

Almost all countries have one national association, one national team and one league system. Great Britain has nothing of it but there are four separated associations, national teams and leagues in UK. So my questions are:

1) What do you think about this situation? Do you like it or not? Do you want Great Britain to have one association and national team for the whole state that could play under the flag of UK?

2) How do you think: is the corrent situation good for football of GB or bad? Does GB have some good things because of it? Is it unfair for other countries or not?

3) Do fans from one part of Great Britain support national teams from others? I mean for examle do english fans support Wells or Nothern Ireland? Do people in Wells support England? You understand I think. Were english, scottish and irish fans glad when Wells get to the semi-final of Euro-2016?

Thanks!

We hate each other, wish nothing but the worst for each other and do not wish to play with each other.

I hope that helps.

We'd much prefer to play separately and represent our own part of the UK, even if it probably means we're all a bit weaker. Rather than join together and lose our separate footballing histories and identities, for the sake of potentially being slightly stronger. Also in any UK wide squad the smaller parts of the UK often wouldn't get much representation anyway.

As for fans from one UK national side supporting another, that's very much an individual opinion, there won't be one single answer to that. As a general rule: nobody outside of England likes England! Otherwise I think we all kind of wish each other well and cheer on successes, mostly.

Thank you everybody for your answers!

I saw that sometimes fans from other countries thought that it wasn't fair that the UK had four national teams when other states had the only one. What do you think about it? Or may be we can say that the UK has no national team because nobody thinks that victories of England, Scotland, Wells and N. Ireland make together victories of Great Britain? If you understand what I mean.

Whilst being a proud Englishwoman as far as football is concerned, I do wish the other UK national teams well in tournaments (providing they're not playing us).

What does disappoint me is the inability to send a combined team to the Olympic Games.

I think so but I've only got mowgli 's pro-Brexit posts to base that on.

:pmsl:

Beat me to it, Stagat . Just had a similar thought. Poor Mowgli, so torn between England and Wells ;)

Thank you everybody for your answers!

If Great Britain (or United Kingdom) want to play with 4 teams let them do that. I don't give a damn about that. It's their choice.

Unfair? You mean because all 4 could qualify for a major tournament? Yes theoretically but WGAF. In my lifetime England won exactly 1 Major tournament (and was only in 1 final too) and the others won null, nil, nada....I am pretty sure that they won't win anything during my remaining lifetime ( hopefully I don't have jinxed now my own death before the final of the World Cup 2018 :D )
Let them play with all 4 if they want

Having four dilutes the quality overall. England (well, UK which would be majority English) misses out on players like Best, Dalglish, Ramsey, Giggs, Bale etc.

I was personally gutted Wales reached the semis of the Euros, but that's solely because I have a Welsh friend and I like to rip the piss a lot.
