With Plymouth missing a few key players and U's almost up to full strength, another good away performance and even a decent result should be possible. Right side of defence and keeper remain concerns, so we'll probably have to score 2 to get anything.

2 - 2 would be a good result for around 200 travelling optimists.

Last long away trip until Easter so looking forward to it. A draw would be lovely, will ultimately depend on how well the keeper and defence hold up, I think I read Reuben Reid is injured so that will help our cause. I'll go for 2-2 also.

A couple of weeks back I was thinking we'll be lucky to escape with a 2-0 defeat, but I'm feeling quietly confident now. Don't really know why, but it could be because I looked up Plymouth's recent matches and it looks like they're not exactly on fire like they were at the start of the season. Or it could be that this game's not at The Abbey, something which seems to make our players perform better.

Biggest problem is obviously the two keppers we're burdened with, but still, I'm going for a 1-1 draw.

That sums it up but I think I'll wallow in a bit more detail. Firstly, the Barbican was lively last night. Although some of the beer on offer was a bit iffy, the fish at http://www.therockfish.co.uk/restaurants/plymouth/ was the best (and best value) that I've had in a long time.

That was also the most complete performance that I've seen from the U's in a long time - better than Morecambe as Plymouth actually had a midfield (of sorts). Beasant had a couple of heart-stopping near wobbles in the first half but was fine and commanding. Defence covered for each others mistakes. The midfield was stupendous - Ledson was more withdrawn; Newton gave me kittens as he regularly got forward (but the fullbacks were a little more cautious); Berry was effective pushed wide to make room for the excellent Williamson and the key to maintaining control when he moved more central later in the second half. Passing was great on the eye but the steel was there as well. Corr didn't look much like scoring but it didn't matter. We dealt reasonably with second half opposition rally, that has been our weakness recently, and after 10 mins things were fairly even up to Wylde's well taken goal.

Berry's goal came less than 10 secs after my nervous mate said "We can still f*ck this up," and I said, "No, we're going to win it." It was route 1 then the defender slipped, but we were on the front foot, looking for the second goal, and the finish was sublime. Another assist for the Corrminator

Kudos for the Argyle support - who were often clutching at straws but supportive to the end. Also, as we passed Stroud and were still not halfway home, we reflected on the reality of supporting Argyle away and the collective moans that must have come out with this (and most) year's fixture list - Hartlepool and Carlisle (Blackburn's not much better) straddling Xmas and Accrington and Morecambe in the lead up to Easter, not to mention York, Mansfield and Notts County. Even Newport must be a hell of a slog.

Like Oxford, Argyle seem only to need a half decent goal scorer and bit of squad depth to be the finished article. Unfortunately that's less easily sorted than our own dodgy defending/keeping. Unlike some, I'm not yet thinking play-offs - but we can certainly look forward with some optimism to any match for the rest of the season.
