The last game of the year (for us) and what a year it has been. From a team that would have struggled in the Conference south and possessing no flair at all to a team that has lots of flair but no resilience.

I honestly think we could be battered down in Plymouth and I also honestly think we could get something from the game.

Blackman was hauled off at half time v Orient as all three goals were made down his side. Yorwerth played there instead and did OK. Will we start with that formation? Don't know but we probably should.

4-0 or 1-1 either of those.

So how many of your 'soldiers' can we expect to see?

Soldiers!

I reckon a total of 150 of mummies little soldiers may be in attendance.

Not including me who will be helping the economy to keep moving.

If we get 60 there I'll be amazed. Probably the most stupid 3pm ko on NY Eve out of those scheduled which is a shame. Green Army to beat Red Platoon 2-1.
Happy New Year

I wouldn't be surprised to see Crawley walk away with a point or even all 3. Adams set's up at home so negatively and plays teams on the counter even at home so If Crawley can play a bit of reverse psychology and invite us to attack I can see us having problems. The 3 we got against Wycombe were all scrambled efforts and prior to the 3 goal anomaly we had been struggling to find the back of the net for ages. It's also evident that we are screaming out for new players....who won't be here until at least New years day. Argyle 1 Crawley 1

Having been 3-1 up on Boxing Day felt a bit deflated to draw. Feel more confident for this one, the minor niggle is whether the players will be a bit hesitant, wanting to play at Anfield next week. In particular I am concerned that Carey is a Liverpool fan, and he is quite capable of undoing Crawley today. The good thing is that Garita seems to be on fire.

By the way my boys were delighted about the monicker Creepy for you.

Is that Andre Blackman that played for us a short while under Sheridan? If I remember correctly he was very fast, okay ish as a wing back going forward and probably the worse defender at tackling I have seen put on a green shirt. He was definately no full back.

That's the Andre Blackman. He is also a sending off waiting to happen. 7 yellows and 2 reds this season.

The only trouble is the other left back is worse! (No, honestly). Chris Arthur, signed from Woking and their fans couldn't believe we were taking him off their hands.

Blackman dropped.

Not sure how we will line up (3 or 4 at the back).

I also notice Sanchez Watt is on the bench. If he could ever play to his undoubted ability he would be far too good for this division.

Our commentator on the Player thingy seemed to think the ref was pretty bad. Thought we should have had a penalty (I don't know I'm not there) and suggested some of the decisions were "questionable" but due to incompetence more than favouritism. He was also adamant that Yorwerth got two yellows in the game without being sent off.

Second time in three games we will be up before the FA due to five yellows in a game. Watching us I wouldn't say we are dirty but we do have issues with waving our arms about.

Well done Green Machine. I don't want to lose you but It's about time you got out of this league. Don't muck it up.

You just had absolutely no quality going forward. We were better second half and eventually broke through your somewhat stern defence.

In a bored moment in the first half i counted 60, and one of my sons 54. So lets call it 57. Will there be a lower figure today?

First half you should have been 1-0, your forward, Collins I think, should have scored and managed to do the strangest chip I've seen - imagine you are sitting in your favourite chair and your dog drops a toy on your foot and you sort of flip it back over his head using your toes. Well that is what he tried to do whilst running at full speed. Yes penalty was a fair shout. The first half both sides were awful, we were just more awful.
Your number 2, Young was much better than our number 2: indeed would you be prepared to swop? And once Miller was replaced at half time there was only going to be one winner. We were by far and away the best team in the second 45. The first goal was long coming and the second goal was one of those annoying ones against you when you are chasing a goal, but it was very well taken.

As to the ref, he was much better than the one we had on Boxing Day who fell for all the Wycombe tricks. As an ex-ref and lino of ten seasons I actually thought he got a lot right. Moreover, he actually allowed his team to contribute - though the lino on my side was several times out of psoition and we got away with two definite off sides. Your players clearly did not like the way Garita our 26 won the ball, but with a few exceptions I don't think he should have been pinged. This then led to a lot of dissent - hence the racking up of cards - though why one of our players was booked when your player deliberately stopped him taking a free kick I don't know. I think you had a legitimate call for out number six, Smith, who had been on the field all of ten seconds to be sent off. My view was the your player grabbed his arm first and this was what saved him being the quickest sending off of the season (even quicker than the one Billy Pantyer thought he had got but amazingly he was not sent off even though he was already walking). I did also think one if yours was booked twice, and your number 6 was clearly taken subbed to stop him getting sent off. This sounds like he got a lot wrong, but across the ninety minutes, I thought he was a seven. Not the best this year, but in the upper percentile and I've seen a lot worse.

Our right back (Young, brother of Ashley) is a converted winger. From being disparaged for most of the two and half seasons he has been with us he is now reckoned to be a good player. The vagaries of fans I suppose.

My boys both said he looked like Ashley, so good guess from them. Yes he definately has speed and that got him out of trouble, but I liked him, though you could criticise him for occasionally be ten-fifteen yards further up than expected.

I just watched the highlights and it does show Yorwerth being called over to the ref to be booked in the first minute (he reaches for his pocket and then the footage switches to the next action). Our commentator then said he was booked for dissent regarding the penalty incident(definitely seen those given).

May be some explanations for the ref to give there.

I agree. We have been good in chunks and even halves but not a whole game. Yesterday is a clear example. In the first half we looked like a mid-table team at best and then for the first half of the second we were clearly top of the table again. Taking Miller off, putting Oscar right back, pushing Carey out ot the left and Tanner in the hole and we were unplayable. I am amazed we only scored one in that period. And then we take Garita and Slew off, go to a back five and they almost equalised because we went back to mid-table. Puzzling and very annoying. Surely we have to hammer someone soon, otherwise we really are not that good. Okay, but not good. I hope Derek benches Miller for tomorrow.
