Grimsby Town Finances - Year Ended May 2017

As we do every season, due to being a PLC, we've published our finances for the past financial year. I haven't really got time to look into it now, but thought it would be of interest here. A quick scan looks like we got around 800k up front for Bogle, but I could be misreading that having not paid very much attention initially.

Wages up 550k, turnover up 600k so takeaway the 820k player trading profit and we are about breaking even if we're lucky.

The good news is we have finally payed off the last 300k of our bank loan we have had forever and repaid back 200k in directors loans (presumably Fenty).

The bad news is that despite gaining 600k ish from being in the football league and crowds being up our matchday income has not increased, and wages (all staff) has increased by 550k. Also the value of Blundell Park is down to 650k.

We also only got another £2400 from shares and Fentys benign loans remain at 2m

He has always said he will never call for the money back if it harms the club but then he also won’t write it off. Best case for us is to try and make similar profits over the next couple of years and then John can hopefully relinquish control!
